Wife's co-worker keeps telling her this...
Wifey had her CLK for less than two weeks and about every other day, her co-worker keeps telling her that she should've gone to the MB dealer he went to. In other words, he thinks she paid too much for an '03 CLK55 AMG (we paid $39K + tax, a great price considering the next cheapest price is $42K w/in 200 miles on Autotrader w/ similar options/mileage). Anyway, he's bragging about how he got his E350 for only a few thousand more than what we paid and how it's so spacious, fast, brand new and blah blah blah. It's making my wife feel bad and she complains about it when she gets home. So, I reassure her that her CLK55 AMG is an awesome car at a great price and he has no clue what he's talking about. Not knocking the E-Class sedan, but they're totally different cars compared to the CLK line.
So, I'm planning to confront this guy (in a friendly, but direct way) to tell him to stop giving "advice" and keep his comments to himself. Anybody wanna suggest something creative before I do this? Feel free to suggest anything and I may just use it.

go out and buy an e350 from your dealer at a cheaper price than what the coworker paid. that'll really shut him up.
but seriously, you can't compare a clk to an e-class, let alone a clk amg to a regular old e. ask him how many clk55's are made compared to the e350. you have power and exclusivity at a good price.

Haha. I got a good laugh from this thread. I'm only 14, but I know that the CLK55 is way better than the E350 (no matter how much I love the E). Your wife has nothing to worry about. I'll repeat what others have said. You've got power and exclusivity on your side. He's just jealous.

Also since I'm sure your wife is probably reading this thread ... I just wanted to voice my opinion that I would take the CLK55 over the E350 ANY day.

Don't want to rain on everyone's parade, but I've raced my CLK55 vs. an E350 and lost to it. 
Yeah...We were going down hill and he continued to "put the pedal to the metal" and in doing so ended up bottoming out, and losing part of his front clip. 
The sparx from underneath his car made for a nice little light show as well.
