Just Checked My VIN
Funny, the issue of fraud just came up as Jamie just emailed me- questioning my VIN because it has a Q in it. Turns out my car VIN didn't match my registration due to a typo. I never knew. Seems like there are diligent to a cetain extent.

I just finished the purchase process:
(1) Go to: http://www.oempartsdirect.com/index.php
(2) Find Section 2 entitled, "Search by Factory Part Number"; then
(3) Under this section, click on the button called "Multiple Part Number Search"
(4) On line 1, enter part #2117663606 for the KEY STANDARD and select Mercedes-Benz.
(5) On line 2, enter part #2037665006 for the BLADE SMART Key and select Mercedes-Benz.
(6) Hit the "Get Parts" button.
(7) Hit "Add to Cart" button.
(8) Hit "Check-Out" button and then fill out billing and shipping information. Note that in the final process you will have to enter the VIN.
(9) Cost was $61.58 shipped ground. You can pay for faster shipping.
(10) You will receive an "Order Comment" email from Jaimie Pickard requesting a copy via email or fax (540-777-3034) of your registration and driver's license. I scanned and emailed them back to Jamie- Jamie.pickard@hammersley.com.

Whats up with OEM parts direct? I ordered the key 2 days ago, sent over my title and Driver's License but haven't gotten a shipping confirmation or anything. I sent an email yesterday and haven't gotten one back yet. I called several times(nobody ever picks up) and left a message once. Still no reply. I can understand if they are busy, but I'm sure somebody can return a phone call or email.
I probably just need to shut the heck up and wait patiently for my key just like everybody else.

Just Relax, you'll have your key soon. They are a Benz Dealer. They have a million things going on. WIth all of the guys from the W203 and the W208 forums ordering keys. I'm sure they are busy as hell. Unless you have something important to ask them, I wouldn't worry about it.

I finally received my keys from oemdirect. It took approximately 2 weeks after faxing my drivers license and regi. So for all the people who ordered from them you'll get it, but it will take awhile...

I got mine in a week and a half. I think they are taking longer and longer now that members here are all buying from the same dealer. I would imagine them running low on keys and ordering more from Germany or something.

sweet, I live like 5 blocks away from Loeber
I think I might scoop one up...any idea if it'll work on an 03 E500?
Now I just need to find a dealer that'll let me enable dvdinmotion on my euro comand with Star
Know if Darion will let that happen?![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
actually I just need access to the engineering menu, the mute+endcall+serv trick isn't working for me, but the other trick menus do
Autohaus(northbrook,il) said it wasnt possible for me to use the chrome key for my E, and they said I couldnt hook up MB nav
Autohaus is waiting for one replacement key they ordered for my car, so i'm waiting on the old-style key which I don't even like and probably costs more, is there anyway i can return it or sell it? When I buy the chrome key i'll have 3 keys, 2 of which are new...that's 1 too many keys for me.
Looks like i'll be proving them wrong on both accounts

It will work perfect on your E500. Don't go to AUTOHAUS, they are complete jerk offs. I got into an argument with the parts guy there. He said it wouldn't work, then he told me he would order it but it would be $197.00 after he had quoted me $59.99. Just go to LOEBER and ask for Darion. Good Luck!!!

Autohaus has great service, they give you a MB loaner for any car bought there. They also pick your car up and drop it off within 25 miles of the dealer, i think they even drop the loaner car off within 25 mi. John is the best in service...they've also got a good selection of cars, as does MB of Chicago (downtown)
MB at hoffman estates (Motorwerks) has great sales service, specifically Kevin -That guy is amazing.

Loeber's sales sucks, even though its a few blocks away from my house I stay away...However I called the parts dept. today and they seem good

How long did it take for you to get your key?
BTW, where the hell is lindenhurst, how far are ya from Chicago?

I'm not judging dealerships on their service, just on their parts departments. I ordered it on Wednesday and I got it on Monday. Lindenhurst is the next town west of Gurnee (where six flags is). Good Luck.

Just got my key today!! Woohoo!!
My car is keyless go and it indeed started no problem without any programming needed. However, i think for '04 and newer keyless go cars you will need the keyless go key. If I remember correctly thru another tread, the '04 and newer keyless go cars'(S55 and E55) key has the same "chip" that is in the key card hence bringing up the different part number.
