Newbie Alert!

Greetings from a former Range Rover guy who is now the proud owner of an 01' CLK55, Black with Designo leather and only 50,000 miles. I'll be commuting from Jacksonville Beach to Tampa for a new job and needed to scrap the Rover in favor of something more nimble.

The drive home with my new wheels after picking it up in Miami was a real eye opener. This board was largely responsible for the decision to buy this car sight unseen, so to all the members here...THANK YOU! I've owned a lot of sports cars, muscle cars, even a Ferrari but this car is the most fun of all.

On a funny note, as I was driving home that first day I was laughing at all the posts I saw on here where guys had dumped thousands of dollars into a car that most people would consider to be perfect already. OK guys, I get it. I get it. Tomorrow I'm having staggered 18" wheels and Eagle F1's mounted. Next will be springs, shocks, pulley, Kleeman software, etc. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks Jaki.

Jax Beach by way of Charlotte. Jacksonville is a strange place. More So. Georgia than Florida. I love it at the beach but now its a massive construction zone with every road from my house to Orlando torn to hell. I've noticed they tear up a lot of highways in Florida and never put them back! This also explains why I didnt opt for 19" rims on my car.

Thanks DBL, maybe we can swap houses for the summer?

Love those wheels! I got mine today and with the F1's it looks like I could lower the thing about 1.5". The 265's in the back are fatter than Dennis Crabtree's thighs. I need to get some pics up cause I could really use some advice from you guys on the new springs.

haha, thanks for the compliment...personally i like the slammed look, so my vote goes to H&R springs...they seem to make a good product for the CLK...check out Jaki's pics for a good look @ the H&R's...L8

Thanks guys.

Track Days looks awesome Chappy. Thanks for the invite. Thats not that far from here and most anytime I would be looking for an excuse to tool over to LA. for the weekend but my company is doing a show in Vegas that weekend. Then there's football season to contend with.

Yeah DBL. Jaki's got the Look alright. My wife told me that if she caught me taking pictures of girls in bikinis sitting on my car that I would have to torque my own lug nuts for a month if you know what I mean. I like that nose down rake. I'm lucky I've got one of the better MB performance shops here in my neighborhood, I dont think they'll steer me wrong.

Hey Honey, do we really have to make a house payment this month? haw haw
