this link implies the a kleeman clk55 only has 345hp at the wheels. i expected a number closer to 420. any ideas what happened here?

yeah, from what i know its suppoed to put the same or more power than the E55. which has like 420hp

The video says that the CLK 55K belongs to Leterell Sprewell. Well, Leterell being quite possibly the greatest "choke artist" in the history of sport, I gotta figure the throttle body of his car has been restricted.
I think that test was done about 5-6 years ago. Do a search IIRC, there was a water pump or intercooler issue with the Kleemann and wasn't putting down full power.
In March 2002, Donnie a/k/a "benzmac" (a Kleemann authorized dealer at that time) wrote:
"On the HP and Torque graphs, I was the one dynoing one of the CLK's My max power was 433 at the rear wheels. We are 1170' above sea level and the temp was 70f outside. This makes for a little deviation in numbers."
Kleemann's own rep posted dyno charts over on mercedesshop 5 1/2 years ago putting down...
