A Mercedes obviously!
The funniest car I saw was when I was living in the UK. It was a BMW 316i but had M3 bodykit and badges everywhere except on the bootlid where it noted it was a 316i. The licence plate: 'M3 ONO'

saw a standard W211 with E55 AMG and V8 kompressor badges here in NY, guy has chrome tail light rings, i was driving my c55 and decided to go ahead of him, and kinda slow down a little so he can read C55 AMG.

Saw this yesterday at the local FULL SERVICE gas station. The owner was standing out side of his car admiring it the whole time the attendant was pumping the gas. I was in my wife's LR3 when I took it. I wish I was in my truck and pulled up behind him to inquire about this little known model!

What if there was a regular CLK ( 500 for example ) with a full AMG styling package, wheels and exhaust pipes... and had a CLK 500 badge on the left, and an AMG badge on the right... would it not warrant the AMG badge?

WRONG.
there's something called AMG Evolution options you can get for non-AMGs. typical upgrades include suspension, rims, brakes, exhaust, etc. you just don't get the engine and you DO get a badge.
only in US people think AMG badge is only meant for AMG.

I dont think its a matter of there being a point or not. I personally think the badge on the left indicates whats under the hood, and the badge on the right can be put to indicate the AMG parts installed.
But thats just my opinion.
Cause i remember being in Bremen a few years ago, and there was a brand new E500 being rolled out of the factory shipping express, and it had a complete AMG optical package installed including the AMG badge.
MB put that badge on it themselves.

I Still dont get the pose argument. Its ultimately self defeating. Putting on AMG on the back of your car will have one of two results - either of which you lose - with a third side effect :
1) no one will know or care - because they dont know what AMG is - or what it means. Its like bragging about a "swiss water decaffeination proceess" bean to a non coffee drinker.
2) the ones who DO know - the ones who know cars (like you guys) will call them out as frauds (hopefully publically) - or just mutter "loser" under our breaths.
3) a feeling in the pit of your stomach that you arent the real thing.
Either way its not worth it.
Off to buy an AMG badge now to put on the back of my Jeep and Range Rover - along with the Mugen, SRT, and Warp 10 engine stickers....

I've spotted a silver W209 poser near where I live a few times. Its a 320 AMG. He drives it like a maniac too. We were stopped at a stoplight yesterday but he was two cars ahead of me. I was in the ML430. I would have loved to race him....I might have had a shot. LOL
Of course I didn't have my camera.
