AMG posers
Anyway saw a stock-looking S500 probably a 2003 with an AMG badge getting on to I-25 yesterday... wish I could have snapped a pic.
An MB service consultant buddy of mine just sent me a email to tell me about how a guy with a beautiful new SLS just had them install snow tires on his SLS. No pics yet, but we need a law that says we can confiscate the SLS as long as we replace it with a Subaru.
What in the world is this guy thinking.

I don't drive my Mercedes E550 4-Matic in snow as dumb as that sounds, I like to keep it pristine when I can though I know it is "designed" for adverse conditions, ever since that run-in with the curb I had I don't trust myself with my baby lol. Black ice is the worst. But I don't keep it in all winter. Only take it out when the roads are try though, same with many people with nice cars in my relative area that I know of (GT-Rs, Italias, Maseratis, etc).
Getting a second track/project/beater car (an old Miata NA) eventually, maybe also to play around in the snow a bit (rear-wheel drive, no ESP - seems fun).

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Coming to a thread made by people that share that viewpoint - that you know you disagree fundamentally with - and calling for it to stop seems sort of pointless and not very tolerant.
If I was going to drive an SLS in the winter, I would run an all season tire on the car. Indiana in January can be 60F degrees and sunny or 10F with snow and ice. I would then drive the SLS all winter under dry conditions and leave the car home during times of snow or ice. When it does snow in Indiana, it is often deep and wet. The low front of the SLS will now become a snow plow and damage will become a very high possibility. The wet snow has a tendency to pack into nice wheels and create the feeling that the tires are horribly out of balance. Trust me, driving a rear wheel drive car that is low to the ground, has wide tires and lots of power is anything but fun in snow and ice.
Many, but I guess not all of us on this forum are car enthusiasts that are very picky about our cars. we maintain them extremely well and try to keep them looking their best. I can't imagine too many people wanting to drive their car on a snowy road that has gravel, sand and salt applied to try and create some level of traction.

I was considerate in the past, I no longer feel that way. I was understanding in the past, I no longer feel I need to be this way. I used to try to understand those who did this, I no longer am interested in understanding them!
So basically, if your Mercedes Benz did not come with an AMG badge from the factory, then it shouldn't have one at all! If you or your dealer decide to put it on there, then get ready to be ridiculed to the maximum extent of the forum law!
DO NOT embarrass yourselves and other MB owners by slapping on a badge that won't make sense to those who understand this car and it's history!
If you still decide to do it, then don't complain when we turn you into forum clowns! Cause you deserve it!
Good day!

hahahah =) no i agree with you man. This thread is just so funny and ridiculous

Just when I was becoming one of you, you turn your backs on me like this????? WTF!!!!
