Superchargers for the 208?
Am I correct that Kleemann stopped supplying superchargers for the 208? And aside from the HPS flame wars a few years ago, has anyone heard success stories about putting HPS superchargers into 208s? (I figure that if Kleemann isn't in the game, it's safe to bring up HPS on this board again.)

Here is what is going on iirc; kleemann is still making SC's only they are not the same. Their supplier of the twin screw went out of business. There no unit is nowhere as good as there old one (a lot of people are now looking for a used one because of that). HPS is STILL a POS. Their customer service is almost nonexistent as well. They work but will need a lot of modifications to produce any real power.

E320CDI, CLK55, and a Smart
HPS: This topic has been beaten up to death. Search AMGSC's expierence with his HPS Gen 2 SC. E55Cent has good results with HPS Gen 1 SC.
Kleemann: Like sick430 said, their original SC supplier is no longer in business. Alot of people have shown good results with the older setup.
House of Power: Josh R. uses a Vortech setup. Do a search for JoshK and you will see his work.
Renntech: I have yet to see their setup in person, but they have a solution too.
Custom job: There are 3 or 4 people on this board who have installed custom setups ranging from AMG's IHI SC (me) to Powerdyne (gregc) to a Procharger C2 (mtimmy).

I had great luck with the Gen1 but like most will tell you it isn't perfect.
If I was to do it again and messing with the car for 2 years I would have gone custom with a centrifical SC most likely a Vortech. I've seen the HOP setups on two different CLK's including the shop and I would heavily consider one. Back then he qouted me about 8K all said and done. Very nice setup that would make some serious twist on a 5.5L. I would also love to see another shiny HOP setup.
I vote(as if anyone cares)
1. HOP vortech setup
2. Custom centrifical side mount (not for the average DIY'er)
3. Kleemann (kinda pricey, but no worry solid HP)
4. Renntech (very cool, but way too much $$, waaayyy too much)
Good luck man

I wouldn't mind spending $10k on an 8 yr old car but there aren't many choices, especially in S. Florida.
HPS: Cheap price, questionable customer service
House of Power: Cheap price but limited to S. Cal region. It seems that Josh R *IS* House of Power. "I'm not just the president of the hair club for men, . ... I'm a member too!"
Kleemann: A bit pricey and new SC not as good as old one.
Renntech: Too expen$ive
Custom job: The good ol' days of smashing my knuckles and having engine grime fall into my eye are over.
It looks like I'll just have to save my nickels and dimes and buy a 2009 CLK63 Black Series . . . in 2015.

I was contemplating making a rear turbo kit for CLK/SL/E once SL65 project is done.

WE are your Chosen People. Please install the rear turbo kit and lead us to the Promised Land!

There is enough room in the engine bay if you move a few things to have a top mount turbo setup. Two GT30R or GT35R turbos would be REDICULOUS! I would go turbo in a heartbeat if the price/power was right

Vadim, the SL 65 Black Series has just torpedoed your 65 market Big Time.

Pigman, picture this – I’m traveling at 75 MPH on the interstate with the cruise on. Blackbenzz is at a complete stop. If Blackbenzz jumps on it the moment my 75 MPH car is even with his, he will catch and pass me BEFORE I reach the quarter mile mark. In fact, by the time I reach the quarter mile mark, Blackbenzz will be over half a second up the road, pulling away by more than 45 MPH.
If I were looking for a blower, the only thing I’d want to know is “what is he running?”

No, I like Vadim's idea better. Our cars need more weight on the rear axle. I swear I get better traction after installing a sub and a big amp in lieu of the spare tire. My jack is now under the hood.
A rear turbo could be a cheaper, more efficient way than the Kleemann supercharger (the answer to MarcusF/Pigman's question)
Here's a link to a succesful application in a V8 Chevy:

I said relocate not remove. How is that a liability? Just run new lines. I did it on my brothers car, really not that hard.
Which is good. Reality is - any kind of collision and I need to prove that relocating ABS lines was not responsible for it.
You are guilty until proven innocent.

Wouldn't running oil lines all the way back to the car for the turbos be even worse? Ok, I understand your legal concerns

I meant more like a oil line being ruptured or breaking during an accident and spraying oil all over the tires and the ground. Once teh oil hits the muffler or any other hot surface it will burst into flames. I have seen oil lines come loose on the track and its not pretty. But I get what you are saying.
