MBenzNL install trip - October
Steve of MBenzNL will be going to California around mid October, to do installs in San Francisco Bay Area and in Orange County LA. He will also be doing a ‘cross country tour’ from SoCal to Jacksonville FL during the first days of November. Even though he will be driving a lot, it is definitely possible to perform some small installs in some of the major cities Steve will be driving through. Such as:
Las Vegas, NV
Phoenix – Tuscon, AZ
El Paso – Houston, TX
New Orleans, LA
Mobile, AL
Tallahassee – Jacksonville, FL
The following installs are possible (and considered ‘small’ as in not so time taking):
- 209 CLK mods:
* CD-rom comand (pre 2005)
* MCS II navigation (2005+)
* integrating iPod kit
* Sirius SAT radio (for both pre 2005 as well as for 2005+)
* integrating UHI / MHI phone kit
* 208 CLK CD-rom comand
If interested in getting something installed, please contact us at MBenzNL@gmail.com. Do keep in mind, that we will require deposits to confirm orders and to prevent Steve from hauling the parts in vain!!

I just wanted to say that Steve has installed several missing options on my AMG and that his workmanship and attitude is great!

Please email us for a price quote, and for what car you would like to get Sirius. We will then inform you about the procedure as well (deposit to confirm the order, and how the remainder must be paid). As for when and where... late October in Orange County.greetingz,

I live in Destin, FL (not too far away from Mobile) any chances of making an overnight stop here? It's a beautiful place
I am really interested in the following for my 04 CLK 55 (I don't have the command screen, just the radio and the A/C; not sure if this matters):
* integrating iPod kit
* Sirius SAT radio
* integrating UHI / MHI phone kit
One big question though: The dealership says my car is wired for a phone, but has never had on installed. I want to have the option of using the bluetooth mod. Is the phone mod you offer the one where you have to use a specific phone (v60i or sim), or is it the one similar to what is offered at InCarTronics?
And of course the question everyone wants to know... how much for each mod?

-----> The integrating iPod kit is only available for cars with MOST wiring, and definitely won't work in your CLK with D2B fiber.
* Sirius SAT radio
-----> In combination with a 2004 US spec CD-rom comand - which is capable of integrating with Sirius - you can get this option installed.
* integrating UHI / MHI phone kit
-----> The UHI / MHI phone kit is the original MB phone kit that works with quite a lot of phones (for which MB offers a list of compatible cradles and a couple of Bluetooth interfaces). HOWEVER, using this phone kit with the BT interface in a D2B wired car will result in the person on the other side of the line hearing echoes!!
... so you may want to consider getting a phone specific cradle instead, so both you and the person you are talking to can hear things fine.
