airbox removal, need help here
I must be blind or dumb... or both cause i've read every possible post on green filter install and that its basically easy , but I don't have a clue how to do it in my Clk55.
basically i've taken off the air hose tube thats connected to the front of the car, and i've removed the front engine cover part. (the part that has the mb logo on it) i know exactly where the filter goes in cause i can see it once i removed the air pipe. .... but how the heck do you remove those 8 screws that are installed underneath. i can barely put my finger on some of them never mind a torx driver.... or am i seeing this wrong.
does anyone have pics or a step by step.... because i'm stuck at trying to take out the screws.... if those are even the screws to take off.

you need to take off the engine cover part thats on the side close to the firewall. just pull on it like you did for the piece with the star. then you can work on the box to get the filters out.

your airbox (that holds the filters) just *clips* onto the engine. You just grab the right and left side firmly and pull up (and kinda wiggle) and it will pop right off. Takes a little force, shouldn't be a problem.

Just re-read your post....sorry. Just pull the airbox off. It is held by 4 clips attached to 4 rubber bushings on the engine. Just pull. When you re-install, be sure to seat the round air intake into the MAF and secure the rear two clips before you do the front two.

Thx... I can see that all you guys have W208
I have the W209... Is it the same approch?
(Take the 2 airbox by the horns and pull up and wiggle; then when out, I use the Torx to free up the 2 filters)

i'm pretty sure the w209 snaps onto the rubber knobs also. Key thing is when you're putting it back on, as cindyclk mentioned, make sure the MAF (air intlet to manifold) lines up properly before pressing it back on completely.
