Brand New Bosch Mass Air Sensors for only $165....
Hello,
I just wanted all the W208 & W209 guys to know that AZautohaus now has a special on BRAND NEW (sealed) Bosch Mass Air sensors for only $165 with free shipping. Bought one for a customer and couldn't believe how cheap they are giving them away, I highly recommend those in need get them from AZautohaus. You cannot beat that deal so anyone wanting to replace theirs or feeling like its about to go bad, this would be a great time to upgrade.

A customers car went bad at 50k so you may not be far off. Moreso than mileage, age is more significant; usually about 6-7 years they go bad. When they go bad lots of symptoms can come up before you get an official CEL:
- poor idle
- poor shifting quality
- less power than it once had
- air/fuel ratios off (need to dyno to find this out)
- engine less responsive than it was when you first got the car, etc
Lots of little things but either way even for peace of mind, $165 isn't that much (especially considering they are going for $220-330 on ebay, and there are alot of fakes on ebay, used MAS sold as new so be careful). Caveat Emptor.
Just thought I would pass on the friendly advice. Hope that helps.

When
your maf goes bad you get a p0100 code, when it is going out of range you get p0170 and p0173 codes. If you get the p07 range codes clean the maf with crc brand maf cleaner before you order a new one and see if that helps.
They run in such a narrowly defined voltage range that it is very easy to know when it is going bad,the check engine light and the obd2 fuel trim codes will tell you.
A dyno run is not needed to test maf function.A simple scan on a real time obd2 scanner will tell a/f ratio.
your clk55 with under 50k miles has plenty to go on the maf.
I would be more concerned with changing your trans fluid and filter now, than carrying around spare maf.
Maybe by the time you need one autohausaz.com will be down to 120 bucks

Not true, MAFs can still be worn out without throwing a CEL light, Over time they are not able to do their job as well. You can have an MAS that is not reading properly but still is not far enough outside the parameters to throw a check engine light.
Get it replaced, the car will run much better.

replace those air filters with K&Ns and you should run a better as well as slightly improved MPGs (don't expect that much power though, but sound does improve a bit). Mine were black, replaced them and car definitely runs much better, so if you are going to do maintenance, might as well upgrade at the same time.

Out Of Control!!
Ordered my spare sunday and what do you know, P0170 code pops up lol. Wont be here til tuesday though Shouldn't I get codes for P0170 and P0173 if it were bad? Why would one bank be running rich and not the other? I pressure tested the vacuum lines and they seem to be fine. I guess I could try cleaning the MAF for now since I have a track day on monday

P0170 - Right cylinder mixture adaption reaches limit value
P0173 - Left " " " " " " "
So both your cylinder banks have reached limit value so you are rich, Could be a few possible things bit its definitely something relating to your air/fuel ratios. hope that helps.
