Car history Car fax serious issues?

Hello

I am considering buying a 2005 clk55. the following is a link to an advertisement.

http://jeff-gordon-chevrolet.ebizaut...px?iid=3976305

I am very curious about the service history in the car fax report.

Is that stuff serious in anyone's opinion? Would you guys avoid this car?

Isn't there an AMG tech expert on here? If so, does anyone know their contact info?

thanks in advance for any input.

john

Wow, that carfax does provide a lot of info. This may be a weird analogy, but my dad is a veterinarian and when considering a puppy it's always best to start with perfect health. How do you ever trust a car that has had that much stuff done? Find a one owner that hasn't lived in the shop.

I can't afford
Nothing wrong with the carfax, it just details everything from service.

It seems like they just noted maintenance, a couple warranty repairs, and the rest of the stuff is just routine inspection/maintenance.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't touch it. Forget the carfax history, the interior in my opinion looks very tacky. For that reason alone I wouldn't touch it. Just go with your gut feeling that's usually the best way to go. CLK 55's are rare cars and to see the owner mis-treat her like this (Bergundy seats) breaks my heart Why o' why?

thanks for all the comments so far.

that interior is original and one of 3 choices available. It know it is not a standard interior, but I actually like it. I had an 03 clk320 with a black interior and think it might be nice to get something different.

That carfax report shows it had more than standard repairs. What is with replacing the mirror? maybe it didn't work? what about the valve body? the stablizer work, the strut bearing?

Is all that normal or maybe this was driven hard?

There are enough single owner ones out there that maybe I should pass on this one? I just like the interior color(I know it is not everyone's favorite) and it has most options like keyless go, lighting, cold weather, nav....

W209 2003 CLK55 Coupe
Other CLK55's

There are 97 different W209 CLK55's for sale on autotrader.com right now. That total includes cabriolet's and coupes.

Have a look, and see if there is another one that you like as well as the one from Jeff Gordon Chevrolet.

My preference would be to buy one from a MBZ dealer, but I would consider other dealers or a private party if the deal was right.

i will second that you should buy from an MB dealer; preferrably through your local dealer considering they will be the ones likely to help maintain the car for you.

i found my car online at a dealer in santa barbara. i had my local dealership transfer the car here and i ultimately bought it through them. it was a good way to develop a relationship.
