Lifetime Allignment at the Goodyear Auto Service
Hi Guys,
QUick question, I was quoted $149 for alignment at Goodyear. Plus, they said I can come back up to 2 times a year and as long as I own the car they can do it for free.
My concern is that I read in many threads to take AMG cars to the dealership only for service and maintenance. Please share some feedback and if you know any SF/Bay Area trusted service/maintenance that dont charge as much as dealerships do, please share

Don't be surprised if when you bring the car back, they claim you need additional parts and services to go with that *free* alignment. Then the question becomes, do you really want the Firestone wrench with the Firestone parts working on your car. That's not to say a dealer is the only place to align your car, but I personally would have reservations about Firestone. Keep in mind, I've never seen your particular Firestone dealer's store. They may have perfectly fine techs who will do a good job. Then again . . .

Don't go it; I took my car into a Goodyear shop upon a recommendation and they screwed the pooch. The front tires are worn on the outside; clearly not enough negative camber. I think they punched in a CLK500 specs instead of the AMG's. Going to take mine to the stealership for future alignments.

Don't do it...I took my car for a similar alignement plan at Discount Tire Center the guy messed up, instead putting w208 clk55 on the computer he put ml55, I yelled at them and left...I took it back 3 times more but every time it was even worse, he's like well your tires are bald we can't do it, I dunno but last time I checked bald tires didn't really do anything when doing alignment...
So finally I took it to a private shop that I know the guy and he did an awesome job and only charged 60 bucks...

Not to knock the guys at Goodyear, but they are a mass-market servicer. I took my car to Brabus for alignment + spring install and the car is smooth like butter.
Honestly, my next choice would be another quality MBZ tuner or the dealer.
