Dead 2004 CLK 55 AMG - HELP!

OK I need some guru's that can talk to me in plain English...this is the problem:

My car was parked for about 3 weeks while I was away on a trip came back and it started up fine, a little hard but OK. Drove for about 220 miles home and then parked it, next day started fine drove for about 30 minutes errands then home repeat the same next day, but this time the Navi, radio nor CD were emitting sound, they were on and showed they were operational but no sound. I turned the power off the radio system that it decided to come back on by itself ( I turned around and no one) I turned it back off and it turned back on went through this episode about 4 times before i gave up. Pulled the magazine rack out of the dash and replaced it thinking that would clear its memory...woke up today and cranked the engine nothing...the clock was spinning backward like Linda Blair inthe exorcist, lights popping on but no engagement from the engine.

WHAT IS HAPPENING? Please help...

Did you check the battery or boost it with cables? Are your headlights dim? Interior lights dim? If so, good chance that you need a new battery or need it charged.

Also, see this:

Thanks Newguy2008,

I did get my neighbor to jump start my car and it is running fine but I'm concerned with what the weird intermittant lack of sound from the radio system have you heard or aware of any nonsense like that?

Appreciate your response!

Jump starting a car can cause a voltage spike if done from a running car. The spike can kill the running car’s ECU, and/or the ECU in the car with the dead battery, and/or damage one or both car’s electrical systems. The running car's voltage regulator sees a serious current drop, attempts to correct, and bang.

The spike can cause a component to fry faster than the fuse can blow.

Thanks MarcusF,

I appreciate your advice and pray that there are no negative affects for my neighbor, but I'm taking my baby to the "stealership" (I really like that name) to see if they can try to diagnosis why I'm having these issues. Hoping to find a good mechanic that I can work with and not keep getting the run around and a big bill everytime I leave their pristine premises...

Regards,
Chili

Dead 2004 CLK 55 AMG - HELP! - Resolved...

Well, got great news from the stealership. The issue was that my car had sat for almost 3 weeks without being cranked up, when I did drive it home it more than likely didn't fully charge up the battery due to the excessive electrical and torque components on the car...leaving it another 2 days basically while I got over jetlag didn't help either so, in the future make sure the fully charge the battery e.g., driving it more consistantly after long durations of non actively.

I requested and they tested my electrical and battery and both working fine, crazy enough the radio system didn't show any signs of abnormality but asked that I bring it back in the next time the sound goes out so that they can try and diagnosis it while the condition is still happening.

The best thing no charge!

I have a question does anyone out there change their own oil on their car? I'm looking into getting some training on this any advice????

Yep, get a fluid extractor (about $90 for air powered if you have a compressor, $70 for hand pump) and change it from the dip stick tube. Filter is easy, up front under the round black cover. Suck the oil out, change the filter and refill. Takes me less than half an hour.

Oil Change - wonderbar!

Thanks BeltFedBob,

But I will probably be calling on you again once I actually find the items can I order them online somewhere? I live in Germany and only know about one resource if that doesn't work I'm back to the drawing board.

Sounds simple and that is what I like most since the last time I changed oil was on Datsun like a hundred years ago...

Danke
