W208 CLK55 - New Rear Brakes - Already Squealing
Greetings,
I had my rear brakes done 1 week ago (pads and rotors) with good parts from AutohausAZ. Prior to changing them my brakes squealed really bad and my mechanic said it was coming from the rear right side.
The car was silent (WAS SO HAPPY!) for about 3 days and then started squealing again. Not as high pitched and it only happens when I am backing up and apply the brakes. It is weird that it took a few days to start and seems similar to before the change.
It is really annoying and I have read other complaints of MB having this issue.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it or what to look at?
Thanks-

Anti-squeal paste. The factory pads come with a dab. I typically add a little more and allow it to set up while I jack up the car / remove the old pads. Did you bed in the pads?

I did not bed the pads and was just reading your helpful post on it.
Questions - can the paste still be applied now even though I've been driving with new pads/rotors?
Do you jsut put a dab right on the middle of the pad where it makes contact with the rotor?
Thanks a ton.

please correct me if im wrong i thought that goes in the back of the pad on both sides of the shim -> Pad - paste - shim - paste - brake piston. To help reduce pad chatter with the caliper.

Bedding in the pads should help but consider changing out the pads themselves...are they performance pads? That could be an issue, is there any chance the calipers are sticking a little which would explain the noise only at low speeds in reverse...I suggest this as I had terrible squeaking from my 996 but it improved (by about 50%) when I took the calipers apart and cleaned them as well new pads...g/luck
