oil change $
How much did you pay for your oil change?
I just went to my MB dealer and they charge me 200$
Normal for a 55 NA ? it's like 8 bottle of Mobil 1 0W40
94$ for oil
64$ for checking the general engine ( I guess it's 64$ for sleeping)
24$ for a special extended life oil filter
+ Tx
= 200$
Is that right?

i believe about 130 is standard rate. looks like you got cut a little extra my friend.
I change my own and the oil costs about $40 and the MB oil filter is about $20.

there is a post on another MB forum on how to do a DIY oil change.
my dealer charges $125 for it. so i started doing it myself.
what u need:
mobil 1 synthetic (or equivalent) 9 quarts
oil filter cartridge (i recommend the better fleece type vs. cheaper paper type) - the filter comes with the o-rings
oil cap removal tool (can get at walmart - just need the right size one)
oil extractor (i recommend - no need for ramps/jacks etc. much safer) - i bought the motive power extractor from amazon
1. warm up car for about 5 minutes
2. shut off car
3. remove oil filter cap and oil filler cap
4. remove shaft containing oil filter (Place aside for now)
5. remove red cap covering oil dipstick tube
6. insert line from power extractor until it reaches bottom
7. prime extractor and start it
8. back to filter - remove filter and o-rings from shaft
9. install new filter and o-rings on shaft (note sizes of o-rings)
10. after extraction is complete remove tubing
11. replace red cap on dipstick tube
12. reinstall oil filter shaft
13. note volume of oil removed on extractor and add same amount back to engine
14. replace oil filler cap
15. start engine and run for a few minutes
16. check oil level
17. reset FSS
you are done. parts will cost you about $70 per oil change saving for $50 each time.

I don't know about the w209 Clk55 but the w208 Clk55 self oil change is the easiest to do. Filter is right on top under the hood. I use ramps to get under.

you can do it either way. i have done both. but if you try extracting it, you'll never go back to draining.
1. no need for ramps (Crawling on ground)
2. no need to get under car (safety issues)
3. extracting gets out just as much oil (i know there are doubters, but try it and you'll see for yourself)
4. a lot less mess (No oil splash at all)
5. the one con is it does take a bit longer

I went to Las Vegas, and stopped by Fletcher Jones MBZ for an oil change, and they replaced the air filter elements, changed the oil and filter using Mobil 1, and only charged me $112.34. This price included the filters, oil and labor!!! (milage at that time was only 31,079..."B" Service)
When the service advisor went to the rear of the car to write down the license number, he noticed that I was driving an AMG and moved me to the front of the line!!
I like this dealership!
