Will do Hami.
I've got a spare set of stock 17" amg wheels which will be perfect for a set of drag radials so I won't have any "street tire" excuses for poor times...... I would LOVE to break 11.XXXX sec in the 1/4 mile......... I'll do all the little tricks....... 45psi front tires, remove all extra wgt.... spare tire, floor mats, tools, etc...... cool down the motor, and run it in cool weather... that's why I hope to get it before this cold weather is done.

12.17.10 update
Last pull was 355RWHP w/bad injector.
Now @ 415RWHP...... still working out the bugs....
That was with p/p heads, 6psi boost, AMS headers, PTE cams
Going with smaller pulley, and ordered a set of Kleemann headers/downpipes.
I think traction is going to be a problem.
AMS headers will be for sale when car is done. Upgrading to Kleemann midlength.
The AMS make power (see above), but I'll need more flow for the add'l boost.
Checking out this fast CLK on drag times...... I'm very curious about the trans/convertor mods notes in his bio....... what did this car dyno?

Kleemann combo CLK55 vs SLK55 dyno comparo
I put two dyno graph data sets on the same table for comparison purposes as my combo will be very similar to these two.
One is a CLK55 with Kleemann blower, headers, cams, tune,
The other is a SLK55 with Kleemann blower, headers stock cams, tune.
It appears the cams shine at the top end (where you'd expect them too).
Take this with a grain of salt.... different days, and completely different dynos.

Going on 3mo's in the shop.... but it's partially myfault as we keep adding mods......
Is there anything else I'm misssing:
Kleemann Eaton Blower
Smaller pulley
Kleemann midlength headers/downpipes
300cell 2ndary cats
PTE Cams
Ti Retainers
Port/Polish Heads
180 thermostat
Tune
LSD
I'm thinking the next thing to do will be trans: clutch packs/refresh, tq converter.
Blackbenz - any thing missing in the mix? I know you have that "secret sauce" from up east

Cool PTE!
Buffy - reading some of black-benz's threads he's running an 82mm tb..... I'll do some searching about how to make that work. I'm guessing one modifies (ports the blower inlet/outlet) to match and reduce psi-loss. We'll widdle out these clues to power slowly but surely.

LOL John!
Tech-Tune - Thanks that's what I was thinking. At 550-580FWHP it appears the stock TB is a restriction.
The guys with really fast kleemann combos are really tight lipped about mods...... it's rather funny. When I get this thing running.... I'll share whatever mods I do, good or bad.
No need to be so secretive.... the more fast benz's the better IMHO>

remove your secondary cats and depending on emissions laws gut your primary cats. The often overlooked "secret sauce" to forced induction is exhaust modification. On head porting, anything beyond removing casting flash and gasket matching is useless on the intake side b/c the air is forced in so it really doesn't matter unless the heads are dreadfully inefficient.
The problem is getting that air OUT. exhaust work on these engines is especially important bc there are 2 intake valves and only 1 exhaust valve. port your exhaust side of the heads more than your intake, exhaust valve work pays off since it is out numbered 2:1. i haven't gotten these heads in my hands yet so i cannot comment on whether bowl blending would pay off or not. large diameter mandrel bent exhaust.
lastly, if the kleeman header are not ceramic coated make sure it is done. the improved heat dissipation pays off but not huge.
are the cam gears adjustable for these engines? if so you can fk with the cam timing a little to see if u get any increase. i wouldn't go over 4 degrees in either direction since these engines are considered "interference" engines.
these are simply opinions so take em with a grain of salt.

since i like you tho, i will give you one hint that is guaranteed to pay off.
change your gear ratio, unless you plan on modding your car to accept larger tires try using a "taller" gear.
if u wanna go the easy route, get a diff assy from an e55 amg.
FDR from ur car 2.82:1
FDR from e55 2.65:1
i forgot how one comes to calculate FDR i think you divide the teeth from the ring gear to the pinion gear to get your FDR but you may be able to mix/match your gears for an even taller ratio.
one would think you desire a ""shorter" gear i.e. 3.33:1 for increased acceleration but that gear is useless if u cant put it to the ground. also i believe you can actually achieve a faster trap speed with a taller gear bc you will be going faster before the transmission shifts and say you achieve your trap in 4th well with the taller fdr one may achieve it in 3rd and the time savings from a gear shift would be noticable.......on top of that you'll have a higher top speed obviously.
easiest way to estimate whether my suspicion is correct would be to download a simulator program if 1/4 mi and top speed is your goal.
if road racing is your goal then id go with a "deeper" gear. i think the v6 clk has a 3.33 or 3.03 FDR or something like that. just not sure of interchange but i am pretty sure a e55 amg diff will interchange no sweat.

Sweet tech - thanks DOHC.
Heads were already ported/polished and that lowered my boost from stock to 5.5-6psi, so a smaller pulley is going on to bring boost back up to stock level for Kleemann.
I'm on the hunt for an 82mm TB now.....
I'll play with gears, trans tq convertor after it's running..... I do notice all the cars are shifting to 4th gear at the top end..... that has to kill ET's..... by the sound of the you tube vids these trans shift SLOOOOOW compared to a c63 7spd.

1 more thing if u have the $$$ but its a risk.
compression ratio:
$$
easy way, if there are thicker headgaskets already available or have custom ones made. lower compression.......increase boost
$$$$$
hard way, swap in piston/rod assy's from an e55 amg. it will take you from 10.5:1 to 9.0:1

ur right about the trans shift being slow. my guess was for durability. look into flashing your TCU to see if it can "tell" your trans to shift quicker.
im personally not going to mess with it bc transmission durability is very important to me.
