Out Of Control!
My kit should be in this week, then time for the install.
A couple questions for you experienced folks:
1. Does the kleemann kit come with the intake and engine cover? Or do we have to source our an E55K intake? Or do we re-use the front part of our n/a engine covers along with what kleemann provides? I think I've seen somewhere someone had a nice looking custom kleemann insignia intake mani.
2. Gages - Are you guys running a set of gages in the a-pillar, or dash, or glove box to monitor boost, and AFR? It was nice in my old mustang vortech days to be able to keep an eye on things whilst under boost...... granted I was at much higher boost levels than this kit (17psi back then).
Or do most benz kleemann peeps just go without the real-time data for a more factory look?
Thx........
hard to sleep at night with thinking of these new mods.

TCU
THanks Marcus.
What are they doing to your tcu?
Change shift points?
We'll see how my 24K mile trans holds up to 500+ hp..... I have a refresh budgeted in the program....... new/more clutch packs, etc..... and perhaps a LET tq convertor, but I'm getting mixed signals about the Tq converter......
In every other car genre a tq conv is key to good 60' times.... however, no one in the mb world seems to know about an aftermarket mb tq converter...... can anyone chime in who has one installed?

the guys at the shop said they didnt like the way the car shifts but they were comparing it to race cars and started asking about TCU tunes for me
they called kleemann hq and they told them it would not be a good idea because it may cause stress on the transmission and cause it to break
honestly if he can guarantee I would break it by febuary I would do it in a heart beat (thats when my warranty expires :P )
I told them that I would try the car out for now and if I cant feel those ruff shifts that he is talking about I think i call live if I dont like it I might find my self a new project
keep in mind my transmission has 92-93k on to it while my engine has 11-12k on

I would not be afraid to have your trans rebuilt with new/more clutch packs. It's not a HUGE expense, and then it's done right.
I'm planning on my trans work next year just for maintenance/survivability behind 500-600hp.
And perhaps a tq converter change... TBD.
My car is getting cams now..... hopefully the kleemann parts got to motorwerks last week.
I'm getting a dyno tune on my ride too..... we'll have to post up some dyno numbers.
I'm having my primary cats deleted (just like the kleemann mid length headers), and then tune around the CEL. So I'll just have metal 300 cel 2ndary cats and no resonator, and stock AMG catback/muff. Should be a mighty tone
