possibly, I waited about 30 minutes to see if the car would cool down any and the temp didnt even go down one knotch. A few guys on here have some kind of ice cooler mod in their trunk for the track, you should look into that. I'll meet up with you one day at a track near houston or the one I go to

Sounds like you are having fun. I picked up my weistec SC black series last month and the feeling of over 500 of torque from just 2000 rpm is a real kick!

I tried to do a search but I cant find it. One of the threads was a track rental for the e55's. They didnt have a specific thread about getting it done that I know of but they talked about it. I think blackbenz has also done it so maybe he can chime in

you up too? I went to the gym at 10 pm last night and took some no xplode while I was there, big mistake. I bet the real reason you can't sleep is because you are getting your car today

Test Ride

Got my car back Fri PM.

I've still got issues to sort out with the shop. And they are bending over backwards to resolve. Big thanks to MW for taking care of me.

That aside..... it has monstrous power! I've had mustang strokers, blown combo's, and a bolt-on 1st gen firebird which were all legitimate low 12 sec street cars...... BUT this thing is a diff ball game.

You can cruise around like normal, and stay under the radar.... then when you lay into it... well you better have both hands on the wheel.

Vids to come later.

Moedy - i've been very flexible with this shop since this is our 3rd car. No way I could have done a rental all this time.

It'll be right when they are done with it, then fun time begins.

Had a good chat with PTE today.... he's kind enough to divulge his mods and tips/tricks.... I'm basically slowly building a version of his ride.
Heck I have his wheels/tires ... and they look sweet.

Paint came out nice too.

I'll post up some pics/vids when it's all done and back in my shop.

I've got a go-pro suction cup cam too.... so I'll have some fun with it (on a road in mexico).... we're a short drive from the border.

Always have to be patient when popping a sc on. The fact is was not done in the factory always means you will have some sort of issue to deal with.

Still waiting.
I'm using maximum restraint against unleashing some thoughts about this experience publicly, until I get this worked out.
Everyone I consulted about this project said MW in Houston is a quality shop, I'm giving them time to do some quality work.
If this was my daily driver, I could never have gone this route.
I'm going to leave it at that for now, if I get the car in the next week and it works properly, I'll be happy and move on.
Thx for all the tech support from all you AMG gear heads.
Cheers.
Jeff Houston

My car is getting wrapped up, they're making some final touches to the tune. So I'm getting excited again.

On another note.... I just got to test drive a Black Series CLK at my local benz dealership..... it was cool to A/B it with my wifes C63 (w/pp) and my blown CLK55-K...... and here's a few observations in my 20 min drive:

1. Can you daily drive a BS?.....YES. I had the wrong impression that the BS would be too rough for dd status... I was wrong. It actually rides better than my wifes 09C63 with the Perf Pkg. I could totally dd this car.

2. Power - seat o pants.... felt same as the C63 and quite a bit slower than my clk55K.

3. COOL FACTOR - it was everything I dreamed of in person and under my control regarding all the wow stuff....... it has been and is even more my dream car. The total pkg or performance and exclusiveness.

When faced with the specter of trading in my recently kleemanized CLK55 for this $84K beast..... I'll probably just keep playing with my kleemanized clk with coil overs and bigger brakes, but it sure is fun to dream.

Had I NOT bought my clk55..... I'd be all over this.

Cheers.

I couldnt agree with you more. A bs could be a daily but I would baby it and make it a garage queen if I had one. An amg is an ideal daily with power. The ride is comfortable and on the interstate the power is there to weave in and out of traffic. My favorite part is having the power there when some douchebag doesnt want to let you in on the merging lane so you just floor it and make them look stupid. It makes you not want to drive anything else. If I could I would have a 55 as a daily driver and BS as a weekend/track beast. Put some long tubes in it with a tune and call it a day
