Question Need Some Exhaust Help!

Hi Everyone,

I would like to hear a little more sound from this fabulous V8 under my hood than the OEM system. Any suggestions as to brands? I also like the look of a dual on each side (quads) vs. just on the left. Anyone have any exhaust mods they have done, I would like to hear about it. Nothing too loud, just want to hear a little rumble when I give the accelerator a little love!

My MB is the CLK AMG63 Roadster in case you didn't see it in my info to the left. I know I will need to purchase the cpe's rear bumper with the two cutouts so I can add the pipes to both sides. Anyone know of what other mods if any I will need to do?

Thanks

A little more exhaust rumble

Hello David _AMG; 2 places to look . W-209 & the classified section , FS & Want adds.
There are 2 Super Sprint Muffler systems 1 Single & one single & split for Quad exhaust tips . Also do a search in this forum . For posts under PTE. I even did a Before & after sound Test, Cheers _PTEngineering

if you want some more rumble and wouldn't mind digging in your pockets consider an eisenmann exhaust

Does anyone know what will be needed to done to add a quad tip exhaust system? Obviously a new rear bumper with cutouts on both sides but anything else? I believe I read in another post that the reason the roadsters didn't come with them in the first place like the cpe was because of an added reinforcement bridge which was added for extra integrity because of loping off the top so there isn't room.

It would be interesting to know if you can add the Black Series exhaust on your CLK63 cab using the coupe rear bumper.

The exhaust on my BS is what sold the car. Well, that and the handling.

I thought about this same thing. Anyone know if it would fit or has tried it?

I have a lot of quad and BS info on this threa https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...ts-part-s.html. If you want to go quad you would have to swap out your spare tire well with the 05 CLK55 or the c55 tire well to give you room for the right exhaust. Also your stock rear sway bar is going to get in the way so you would have to upgrade to the BS sway bar. If you don't want to go the CF diffuser route you could get the CLK55 bumper cut-out and just cut a bit of the bumper.

Well on a cab,
you're gonna have an issue, there is not enough room for the quad exhaust with two mufflers (AMG mufflers)...
You'll need the kind of installation I got.
You can change the rear bumper or only cut it...

You could make room for two mufflers with the method I mentioned in my preious post. The mufflers don't have to be AMG they could be any brand.

Not really, the c55 spare tire well is $140 through parts.com. The CLK55 spare tire well is $180. It's only held in with glue. I already ordered it. Just waiting on my diffuser and going to install dual mufflers. I list all the part #'s to do the swap in the thread linked above.

Why would you change the rear bumper. They sell the black plastic piece that goes on the back of the bumpers with the two cut outs already. It's only $140, a lot cheaper than a whole bumper.

That's exactly what I did.
Cut the rear bumper and add the black plastic piece.
Result is quite nice for the price.
