Im new as well. (didnt want to start an identical thread and anger folks) No pics yet, scheduled pickup is tomorrow in the DC area. Don't want to jinx things yet, but will give more details after paperwork is signed and she's in the garage. It's a 2002 CLK 55 with under 50k miles, very, very clean. Appears to be fully loaded with all options.
Couple of quick questions that I wasn't able to readily locate on the forums? (if there is a link that I missed, just post it and I'll go do my research). The 2002 CLKAMG that I'm acquiring has the stock head unit, Navigation, and StarTac type phone in the center armrest. Is there a general consensus on replacing that phone or doing anything useful with it? I know over in Denmark, a gent on the BMW forum has his phone activated so that his handheld cell automatically transfers over to the car phone when he gets in the car..or something like that. any way to achieve that with the CLK's phone? Or is it essentially...a brick these days. lol. Thanks.

Iseguy, welcome to the clk55 secret society
On your question of the phone cradle, do a search on ebay for "mercedes bluetooth" and you will get some hits on MBU-2000 or similar devices. It acts as a bluetooth device that sits in the existing phone cradle. It suppose to fully integrate with any bluetooth phone and existing phone/nav unit. I'm thinking about getting one for my C32, as it has one these older style cradle. If you do get one, let us know how it goes!

mbu-2000 says its for 2004+
mine's a 2001
the most cost effective way to get a gps/ipod/iphone/etc seems to be to buy an aftermarket all-in-1 unit, such as this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Clarion-VX400-...f=pd_rhf_p_t_1
granted, it wont integrate into the little dashboard display, as its not can bus.
but oh well. I dont value that to the tune of $2000 or so thats needed to retrofit the car with the stock comand.

if the link doesnt work, its item number 250684263809
I'll have to answer any questions about it on Sunday. Heading out of town to deliver my near immaculate 1999 M3 Convertible (E36 Chassis) to my sister, whose purchasing it from me. That's what the CLK55 is replacing.

Thanks guys. Out in the garage now with my Griots Garage DA buffer/polisher. Giving her the 3 step treament of clean, polish, seal. Got a few microswirls/micro scratches in the hood/trunk but nothing that catches the fingernail so it should all come out. She's truly in mint condition. Only two minor bodywork issues. Small almost imperceptible door ding on middle drivers side, but no paint damage there. MY PDR guy will be getting that out next week. permanent stain, but only noticeable under certain light. Other than that..bodywork is literally flawless. It's loaded with what appears to be all options including the Designo leather package, Navigation ComAnd system, 6 disc changer in the trunk. Only thing it appears to not have is parking distance sensors? Not sure if those were optional in 2002? The wheels/tires are 19 inch staggered Zumbo brand AMG reps with Hancook Venus tires. Wheel/tire package was installed new in April 2010. No curb rash, no bends.
Only other mod was the addition of a XM/Sirrius module which I plan to remove to get back to 100% stock interior look. But Im very pleased. Oh, Im a former 1999 E36 BMW M3 Vert owner that was/is mint. Had 93k on the clock as of Friday and to be honest, outhandled this CLK55. CLK55 is MUCH heavier car but also class wise, a step above the 3 series, which makes sense..as the CLK was 80k or so new, and the M3, about 50k new
