2002 clk55 , yay or nay ?
I must confess I know very little about this beasty .
I am thinking of getting one to use as a daily car ( including the winter ) here in the UK . I have been offered one at what can only be described as a steal .
The car has been very well looked after ( fsh ) , done 65 thousand miles and will come with a 6 month warranty .
Is this a good idea ? Are there issues I need to think about ( apart from fuel consumption ) ?
Any help is greatly appreciated , thanks in advance
heres a piccy :

Had mine for almost 12 months. Bought it with 73k miles on it. So far have had the A service done and that's it. Not one ounce of trouble with it whatsoever. I love this thing.
Do yourself a favour and buy it.
Cheers
. So two months ago I had a chance to pick up another W208 CLK55
, now keep in mind that I could have got the newer W209......but IMO it's just not the same as the W208. There's just something about the W208 AMG that made me come back for more, I also have my Nissan Armada 4X4 for winter driving so the snow is not an issue anymore......bottom line YAYYYY
You can't go wrong...esp at the prices they sell for now.

it looked like i was getting a better deal but they are being a little difficult . there is a private car im looking at with 74k miles but with a fantastic history . i think the 55 is the way forward .
thanks to everyone for their help .
So your near Reigate Hill/Redhill Gatton Bottom area - used to go to college in Redhill - know the area well - born in Caterham!! Small world hey!
Good luck with the car - it looks very good and fully loaded!
Buy it if it all looks good...
Turn off the radio...
Get it cruising on the lonely highway at 50 or 60...
Nail the throttle to the floor...
Take it to 100...
The sound alone will make it all worthwhile...
The smile on your face will never go away!
BTW... We just took our 2002 CLK 55 on a 1200 mile trip...
Average speed 71 MPH... Average of 23 MPG... Car was loaded down with 3 people, 1 small dog and a trunkful of stuff...
The only car I have seen do this any better is our 2005 E55...
Less MPG but a little more comfort.
Simply amazing cars...
Interstate travel is why God created the Mercedes-Benz.
Anyway...
Yes, the 208 CLK is quite a car. I have never warmed up to the 209, unless it's the BS. The PO of my E55 bought one and I saw that one all in black. A killer car, but the front spoiler is so low I can't see how he can take it on the street anywhere in the midwest where he lives.

I say you get it!
