W208 hid package
I hear that some w208's have hid lights from the factory. How can you tell? I know the parking lights are not hid but I'm not sure about the headlights. The low beams are bluish but the high beams are white. Makes me think the previous owner just popped some different bulbs in it.

Open your hood and look for this yellow high voltage sticker behind your light bulb. There would also be a ballast mounted under the headlight and a small black motor mounted between low and high beam openings on the back. Here are some pics of a xenon headlamp assembly:

Or just check if you have the washer covers on the front bumper (the little protruding squares under the headlamps). If you have them, you have HID.
I'm pretty sure HID was std on AMG 208s.

I guess I have xenons then. My lights looks exactly like the ones in the link. Hmm that makes putting black projectors in a task. I'm gonna have to wire them in myself; also if I understand things correctly projectors are inferior to xenons.

If you have a 2001-2002 CLK55 (W208) for US production you should have the HID headlights from the factory. If you don't, something is not right. And no, they are not the projector type like the W209 has.
