Yes, direct bolt on...used my stock lugs. I'm running 235/40-18 in front and 265/35-18 in the rear (PS2s). I took these tires off my 18X8, 18X9 Monoblock IIs and had them mounted on these.

The specs on these wheels is 18X8.5 (ET25), and 18X10 (ET25). No rubbing, except when in reverse and turning (the fronts scrape the plastic fender liner ever so slightly) - but I had the same issue with the Mono IIs - so I think that might be the 235s up front, plus running euro springs. When these tires wear out, I may put 225s up front.

The center caps (with the wreath) are going to be changed out in favor of the standard center caps.

That's a real AMG Manufaktur shift knob that I'm 'borrowing' from my buddy in Florida that had a CLK55. He told me he sourced it (back in '01) from ebay/Japan I think? Those knobs were like $400+ new.

Very nice look on that 55 Chappy!
And like the original style 208 wheels, they should be easy to clean. Just 5 nice flat spokes and flat surfaces. My '05 E55 has 030 package twin spoke 19's and are more difficult to keep clean.

Thanks guys! I think the key to keeping these clean will be weekly washings and keeping them waxed. The 16 rivets per wheel make that paramount.

They do stick out more. Study the pics of the W208 F1 Safety Car and they have the identical appearance.

As far as weight, I remember reading these wheels were something like 13kg, not sure exactly how that compares to the 18" staggered Mono 2s I took off. I need to get some miles on this setup for further feedback, but I can't complain about the looks!

Congratulations, Chappy, on getting the ultimate 208 wheel (at least for fans of the original CLK F1 Safety Car).

I am running 225s on the same front wheels and do not have rubbing issues. So maybe you are right the problem (if it is a problem) is the 235s. Nevertheless I want to try 235s at some point in the future - maybe with Toyo 888s.

Happy trails!

Yes, as per factory recommendation.

But my tech said 265s should fit no problem so I will change out some day. I find both the 225s in front and the 255s in back leave the rims too exposed. I have put a nick or two on the wheels, sorry to say.

I am curious how the change affects your highway mileagle. Mine went down about 1 mpg. Probably due to more rolling resistance. At the same time I also added a big amplifier in the trunk so it could also be the increased load on the generator!

I'll need to pay attention to the mileage on my next highway trip. Problem is I drive the car so little now (just about 2000 miles last year), it's tough to get an accurate observation.

I had forgotten that. Lemme know if you see others....
BTW, what do I have to do to join your wagon club? Is it 124 only?
