2010 Charger SRT8

First Time at the Drag Strip 13.2@107 (CLK 55 AMG)

I convinced my brother to take his 03 CLK 55 AMG to the 1/4 today. Keep in mind he's never drag raced before in his life hes 18 and treats his car like a baby. These Runs took place in Missouri not California Im here visiting.

His very first run

I was very impressed for him never running the car before.

kudos to your brother, my first time i ran a 15.02..got anxious and stomped to kickdown and slid sideways 1/4 of the way...pretty embarassing..

If he dosent spin and races with a lower tank of gas I think he can pull off a high 12 second pass.

stock clk55 do low 13 i think and if u do less gas u will spin more
u need better tires

Thats very true, hes spinning way to much Im working on the video now.

2001 CLK55 AMG

Nicely done. My best is 13.18 after a few trips with a good launch, half tank of gas, spare tire etc... After getting rear ended though I'm not taking it back to the track. I don't trust it under those stresses anymore. I was hoping for a high twelves pass with a quarter tank, and empty trunk.

Better tires help the launch, but technique is free, and will prove to have better gains.

I run Falken FK452's and they grip well for the money. Run around the waterbox, scrub them a little. Absolutely make sure to line up in the groove. Then brake, and hold the RPM's around 1500. I've launched very consistently this way with no spin, and certainly with a 1/4 tank of gas, and empty trunk he'll be in high twelves.

Thanks alot man, it could have been longer but we were running out of Daylight. My Bro kept telling me make sure I brought my 7D when I came into town because he wanted video of his car lol.

How big of a difference is the CLK55 AMG and the CLK550? 1/4 wise?
I think with better tires my brother could hit a high 12 no problem. I ran 13.047@107 in my old 2000 Trans Am Ws6 at that track and my brothers car has more hp and better gearing then my auto WS6 did.
