2003 clk55 good deal?
Looking at a 2003 clk55 wih 87k. It does not have navigation, xenon and far sunshade. Overall is in good shape, needs minor items to be done. Carfax shows always serviced at a local dealership
Asking price is 14k and I can get it for $12,700
Good deal?
Thanks in advance

The center trim (where the cigarrette lighter is) won't close, the drive's side head rest won't go up and down and finally the front seats are a 7 out of 10 as the perforated leather needs to be re-dyed (not a big deal as I have done it before)
Other than that, the car is solid, drives nice and has no mechanical/cosmetic issues.

It sounds like it. Now that I remember, it also needs a third brake light and the center vents (the round ones) the plastic plate is all gommy, like if its loosing the black cover, so those 2 things must be replaced as well.
So to recap
Needs
Third brake light
round center console (where the 2 vents are)
The cigarette lighter console wont stay close
Driver's head rest wont go up and down
Other than that the car is in very good shape

The owner owes $ still, that means I would have to wire the $ to pay off his car, then wait for him to get the title and then transfer it under my name. Call me weird but I dont like that. What if the guy never signs the title under my name after he gets it? Im paying off his car and taking no title with me

I spoke to his bank, they will send me the title but still under the seller's name. Then the seller has to sign it off to me. My only concern is if the seller doesnt after I wire the $
Im a very weird person when it comes to $

If you're worried about title there is a very simple way to ensure you get it. Walk into your bank and tell them you want to finance a $13K/1 year car loan. Your bank will take title. 30 days after talking posession of the car, walk into your bank and pay off the loan. Your bank will then hand you the title.

Thanks guys. Car loosk, drives and sounds awesome.
We did a bill of sale and a reg262 which is the same as having the title in hand. If I dont get the title within a month the DMV will take the reg262 as if its the title itself and will perform the transfer under my name. I have also notarized the bill of sale. I then called his lien holder and they will be mailing the title to my home address.

16k sounds fair to me. The lowest CLK55 W209 or newer in USA when I run my search was 15k and had 130k. Yours with only 70k should be worth at least 17k or higher... just need to wait for the right buyer to show up and buy her.

I have sold cars that I have liens on. They seem cool with it. I must have an honest face
I know you bought the car already, but in the future, just get a notarized bill of sale and pay with an official bank check.
I have only bought one car that has had a lean on it with no title, usually they have one.
