I couldn't do it!

Everyone was right in saying there was no way I was going to do it. I told them just watch me, but to no avail, I could not do it.

What couldn't I do, you ask?

Drive the CLK55 in the winter. Not that I can't handle the car in the snow, (grew up driving T/As and mustangs) it would just be a shame to do so, IMO.

So I picked up a winter/daily.

2004 Chrysler PT Crusier GT w/ 38k Miles. Has every option, heated leather, moonroof etc. Came with two sets of wheels as well. Bone stock. Since it has the same engine as the SRT-4, the aftermarket is pretty good for it.

Already ordered some goodies,

Mopar BOV
Mopar Stage 1 PCM
Mopar Composite Intake Manifold
Mopar Performance Wires
NGK Vpower 4306 Plugs
KandN Filter
TTAB Pipe
Silver star ultra bulbs(Got use to HIDs over the years, standard halogens are weak)
Lastly switching to full synthetic.

I am sure I will add more to it as time goes on. It should run mid to low 14s when done the stuff above. Should make a nice daily and keep the AMG out of the elements.

Here are a few pictures of it...

Just thought I'd share.

Anyone else not drive their CLK55 year round?

PT cruiser? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. You know there are better cars out there for the snow right?

Better cars that get mid 20s mpg, heated leather, have the potential to go 300whp on stock turbo, good supporting aftermarket, haul stuff, and can be hand for extremely cheap with only 38k miles on it, that is not beat to hell?

I am all ears

The only other viable option was a 99 Outback with 60k. But was 5 years older 20k more miles, no leather, and slower than a one legged turtle.

I'm looking at a Subaru Impreza for my winter driver, I have to get through at least one more winter though in the AMG. The Dodge 2.4 Turbo does have an amazing aftermarket however so have fun with that. I've seen a few SRT4 Neons around here that seriously throw down with a few bolt ons.

I like the PT Cruiser! Some people love em, some hate em.

There is a crazy big following of the ptc in cali..... these guys mod em, show em.... heck some race em.

Congrats.

I love older 80's 90's cars...... I have a guitly pleasure desire to drive a 1983 5.0ho Z28 just like my best friend had in highschool..... does that make me a cheezy dude?

Sans transmission, intakemanifold, and intercooler, they are the same to the SRT-4. Pretty crazy, a guy on the PT forum was running high 12s on stock turbo with an auto. Then their are some in the 11s too. Just crazy.

Impreza is a decent car for sure. Some of it is "different" to work on, but nice none the less. Was looking for a Bugeye WRX wagon, but it was to no avail. They are all beat nearly as bad as SRT-4s.

Good luck on your search! Keep the AMG out of the elements.

Thanks, I like them too, not at this ones 28k sticker price, but used prices I like them alot.

And no that does not make you cheezy, but it does make you manifest a mullet. JK. I also like 2nd Gen F-bodies. That is all my older brother used to drive. I thought they were cool then, and still do.
