Codes tonight
Got CEL tonight, easy driving picking up dinner in the 04clk-k:
P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)
Also got Bank 2 same code for Bank 2.
Quick search says it's MAS, or O2 sensors, or vac leak.
Time to diagnose.

I reset codes, checked for vac leaks (all OK), hooked up dash-daq, watching fuel trims, 02 readings...... no CEL, no more codes, all seems OK now, after another 20 miles of various driving conditions. NO WOT runs until I figure this out. No codes or issues after reset and 20 miles.
Just want to confirm with you.... I suspect it's my ebay MAS Air Meter which came from german auto supply in a Bosch box.... but perhaps it was a reman or bad unit?
Ordered a new Bosch unit from Autohauz, AZ.
Does this sound like my MAS is going out?
I'm running stock paper filters.
Fleabay MAS has literally 5K miles on it.

thx.
I see a wide-band O2 sensor in my future just for pc of mind.

It does sounded like the MAS due to lean runnung on both banks but then it should also show another code for the bad MAS. It could also be your fuel pump issue. Are you running a boost-a-pump to up the pressure on your fuel pump?

No boost a pump.
Only stock fuel pump with 30k miles.
Kleemann boost sensative fuel pressure regulator (ups fuel pressure w/ ref boost).
I'm ordering a zeitronics wideband o2 sensor for pc of mind.

A-ha! Success.
Pulled air intake off, and inspected everything:
The little rubber hose from the mass air meter to the drivers side valve cover had popped off the drivers side valve cover.
Cleaned it up, and then went over every hose connection with zip ties.
Something all you kleemann guys should watch out for (if you already don't).
I find myself inspecting this motor every couple weeks just for good measure.
Wideband O2 sensor setup still in the works, for safe measure.
Thx all.

Trying to take after the zen-master PTE ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thx for your support sir on all things that go FAST!!!!!!
I'll post up results when I get the Zietronics Wideband hooked up with data-logging.
I really want the data-logging working BEFORE I take it to the track.
