CLK 55 amg rotors size

Hi Guys..

My CLK 55 has the upgrade of brakes, 6 pot on the front.

I have one doubt, the size of discs doesnt change with the upgrade?

All CLK55 W209 has the same size? or not?

I`m always watching sellers publishing Rotors for CLK55 2003/2004.

So it doenst fit on my CLK55 facelift?

Cheers and thanks for Help

Thanks a lot... yes 14.1IN = +- 358mm.

So 360mm is my answer.

Best regards

am I right or does it seem that the 2003-2004 ones are slightly bigger with a larger outer diameter? (03/04: 345mm vs 05/06: 339.8mm)

Johawk,

It really seems the 05 CLK55 AMG came with the same brakes as you have pictured last (the CLK63 brakes). I know the OP got his answer of 360mm (14.2") for his 05 CLK55 brakes, which I thought is correct. Where are your diagrams from? Did the OP have a 63 brake upgrade if the stock 55 rotors are 340mm as you posted?

Those are Centric part numbers, I think. The diagrams came from my parts look-up at work. I will double check the buyers guides again tomorrow when I go to work. I will also check the O.E. parts book to see if the '05 had the option for the same brakes as the CLK63

Thanks for the response and the pics, I found some other threads talking about it and near as I can tell, there was a 030 performance package or something that upgraded the 05 CLK55 brake rotors to these 14.2" (360mm) units. I found a brochure for 2005 that confirmed OE equipment size was 340mm not 360mm, but oddly enough it did not mention an optional 030 package.

I just rechecked with my parts look-up and the Mitchell reference guide and I didn't see anything about an option in '05 for different brakes. It wouldn't suprise me that MB would give the option and not publish it. Many manufactures do that and the only way to get the right parts is to give the dealer the VIN and get OE part numbers that way.

Sorry to thread jack but I'm curious to find out if 2001-2002 #120.35047 rotors on a 2002 CLK55 AMG can be replaced with 2003-2004 #120.35052 CLK55 AMG rotors and will this be a direct bolt on or would I have to upgrade caliper and carriers?

Sorry if this has been asked before - thanks for all the help

And to finish the thought, if we 2002 55 owners upgrade our calipers designed to work with 345mm rotors to the larger 05-06 calipers for the 361mm rotors, 2002 55 owners will also have to swap out their stock 17 inch wheels, if they have them, for 18 inch wheels, is that correct?

There are a "17 Rims can clear the 6-pot Caliper with 340/345mm Rotors,

but with "18 & above is more clearance with less risky = no Headache.....

ZAYED,,

Zayed,
Thanks but I think you misunderstood me. I have 17 inch AMG rims over the stock calipers and and 345 rotors. What I just wanted to confirm was that if a 2001 2002 clk55 wanted to upgrade to the 05 06 361 rotors, he would have to move up to 18 inch rims.

You will absolutely need 18" wheels for the 360mm rotor and caliper. It just barely clears with the oem SL55 5 spoke wheels... This is why you don't see any AMG cars with that kit and I believe the CLK63 has 18" wheels while the 55 comes with 17"

That is as I understood it. Thanks for the confirmation. If my car didn't come to me with the cool AMG rivet wheels then I might consider going to 18 inch wheels.

CLK 270
Hi there. Is there any chance to fit clk500 calipers on my CLK270 plug`n`play? If no, what else should I change? I recently made an upgrade on turbocharger and a remap and i need big brakes too.
Thanks in advance.
