German Power Tuning?

I've been enjoying my W208 CLK55 for just under a year now, and the mod bug is starting to bite... I don't have a ton of money to spend, so supercharging is out, but I've heard some good things about AMS products. It seems they've closed up shop, but another company, German Power Tuning, seems to have taken over. I haven't been able to find anything about them on the forum (probably because they're new), but it looks like they offer the same crank pulley and headers that AMS used to sell.

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? I've been in touch with them, and everything sounds good, but I'd like to know if anyone's used their products and can comment on quality and/or relationship to AMS.

The AMS shorty headers made 2WHP on my car, I think they made 6WHP on a SLK55 as well. I have since gone with Kleemann headers.

So I guess I could expect ~6hp? That makes me think it may not be worth it. I'm hesitant to go with Kleemann because I'd rather keep my cats, as I'm planning to move to regulation-happy California. I guess I can't expect the same gains from shorties as from long tubes, but maybe it would be worth it with a renntech intake and a tune?

Yea AMS is done:

It seems GPT is selling off the old inventory at 20% off. I was thinking of going with the crank pulley, but I'm concerned about vibrations being insufficiently damped. I'd love to have quicker acceleration, but this is my dd, so reliability is important too. I'd be interested to hear how it works out for you.

Yea, you're in luck. It seems they still have the pulleys but not the headers. Apparently a different company out of Texas is selling them now. I bought them on ebay for under $400.

I should probably pick up some high flow primary cats before I swap the headers; I've heard it can be tough to fit anything in there since it's so tight. Any recommendations?

if you delete the secondaries or get some high flow secondary cats and a tune you might squeeze out an extra 20whp with a slightly deeper tone to your exhaust

I had a little scare when I read AMS was no longer in business only because I wanted their pulley for such a long time. As for headers I am not interested in AMS, I'm saving up for MPH! Yup

Sounds good to me. I've been looking into Eurocharged, but I wonder if it's worth a dyno tune just for exhaust mods...

I gained 5whp and 9wtq on w208 with a dyno tune. Power delivery felt much smoother as well.

Was the rest of the car stock when you got the tune? If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

I prefer to go with "Evosport underdrive pulley kit + phinolic heat spacers" & " Kleemann Cams + Headers + ECU with TCU tuning" &

"NGK or Denso Iridium spark plugs"..........
