2003 CLK 55 AMG
new to the forum, new to AMG
I recently sold a corvette to move up to the wonderful world of AMG. I just bought a 2003 CLK 55. After 4 days, I love it. It certainly is heavier than my vette was, but I swear it has more pulling ability. The back seat is perfect for the kids, and all the new toys are frosting on the cake. The car had brand new Pilos Super Sports on 19" OZ Superleggera IIIs which were powdercoated black. I am still deciding if I like them, or if I would rather have a 18" AMG set on the car.
I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions in the coming weeks. Great forum!

2003 CLK 55 AMG
I had a 99 corvette that was a great car, but not all that practical without the back seat now that the kids are growing up and being involved in more activities. The CLK has more power (and more weight) but still gives me a good percentage of what the vette gave me in terms of being a sportscar.
I am sure I will learn more, but how do they do on the track? These OZ racing wheels would probably be great, but like someone said above, maybe I get a set of OEM 18' AMG wheels as well.
The aftermarket support for the corvette was amazing, now I have to learn all new sites & companies with parts and accesories that my wife will never let me buy!

Welcome! I looked at a C5 before the CLK55, but felt like the 'vette was going to be a headache as a DD, and of course, has little stealth factor.
How is ride quality with the 19's? I went from the stock 17's to 18's on my W208, and think that's the limit - when I'm in the bay area where roads are good it's easy, but when driving in LA, the 18's can get to be fatiguing due to poor roads.
