Dragstrip Results - 12 second N/A CLK55

Decided to hit the track one last time before it closes yesterday.

Track was empty, maybe 30 cars tops. Could have done as many runs as I wanted, but only did a handful.

I can officially say i have a 12 second car now

Full weight, All season tires(stock air pressure, Conti DWS), pump 93 octane gas. Mods in sig. Differences are I now have a tune, and renntech airbox.

Race weight(including driver) - 3955lbs

R/T - .054
60' - 1.944
330' - 5.475
1/8 - 8.390@82.49mph
1000' - 10.890
1/4 - 12.984@105.06

Other two decent runs.

R/T - .045
60' - 1.972
330' - 5.546
1/8 - 8.472@84.68mph
1000' - 10.986
1/4 - 13.073@107.68

R/T - .067
60' - 1.977
330' - 5.513
1/8 - 8.428@82.46mph
1000' - 10.928
1/4 - 13.022@105.36

Not sure why I am down MPH Over 3mph from my 12 second run compared to my previous best. (108.270mph) I figured with the addition of the tune and airbox my trap speed would have gone up. Perhaps I need a retune on the dyno?

On a side note, my friend with his C55 was there. He has Eurocharged Tune V4, AEM filters, deleted resonator and secondaries. He let me run his car, 1st try I netted a 13.1xx@106.xx, 1.97 60'. With more seat time I am pretty sure the car has a 13.0 in it. His race weight with him in it was 3800, so add 70lbs with me driving it.

Next on the agenda, is high flow secondaries, and an X-pipe if I can find a shop competent enough. Then discuss my re-tune options.

Just thought I would share.

Great times, was the 108 your highest trap speed?

Temp, Altitude, DA, etc..... will effect trap speed.
WOW 12's N/A is great!
Well done.

Get some sticky tires and run 12.7's......

Thanks. Strangely, yes, the 108.27 was my highest trap, but that was before my tune and Renntech airbox. Best I have been able to since my tune and airbox is high 107's.

Thanks, Yes, stock wheels, and tire sizes 225 up front, and 255's in the rear. Everything was in the car, nothing was removed. 3955lb race weight.

All part of the enigma. When I trapped 108.27 D/A was over 1100ft(61 degrees), yesterday D/A hovering around 0 (49 Degrees). Same track both times.

Thanks! Want to keep with the street driven motif for now.

Now its about finding where my mph went. If I can get the car to muster the power for 110+ mph traps as I have seen some other C55's do modded N/A I think I can nail mid 12's on theses all seasons.

After that, it will be time for some sticky runs

Man that is STRONG!

Really makes me wonder why AMG would go to all that trouble to hand build an engine... and not do a few simple bolt-ons to yeild .3-.5 sec drop in ET's......... silly.

Thanks, your best trap is over 110 correct?

I know my race weight maybe 150lbs higher, but I believe our only difference mod wise is you have no secondaries, x-pipe and custom dyno tune.

Can't see that accounting for 5mph

What was your 60ft time in the 108 mph run? where did you run at GLD? I might bring my M3 there this weekend as its still open.

Haven't been to GLD with this car, been over a year since I've been there.

My 60' foot was 1.96 on my 108.27mph run. Definitely losing mph somewhere.

You should come to Byron, track prep is usually pretty good. Though would like to hit up GLD again some time.

What does your M3 run?

Low 12's at 118-120 ish at GLD. Haven't run the CLK yet. I have yet to brake a sub 2.0 60 ft yet..the track prep sucks at GLD. I wouldn't be so concerned with the mph but more w the ET. So many factors can affect the mph my best time i ran w/ the M3 had the worst mph. I ran a 13.3 @ 122 once!

Nach - why was that w208 so much slower than your w209?

I thought the w208's were lighter and faster than the W209 mod for mod.

IIRC, the highest was 110.XXX. I started playing with tire pressure and both my et and traps dropped. Still, it wasn't 5mph, more like 1mph. Was it windy?

How does your new 1/8th mile mph compare to previous runs?

My w209 has more mods, and feels faster than my w208 for sure. W209 is also way easier to launch imo.

Another part of the puzzle. There was. Head wind when i trapped 108.27. This outing almost no wind.

First outing my 1/8 traps were 82-85+

Second outing was 82-84.
