Phone adapter or options to connect phone to center console? 03 CLK55 AMG

Is there a way I can plug my phone in the center console phone connecter to charge my android, talk through the speaker dealy, and play music? Ive got an 03 CLK 55 AMG phone option, bose, no nav. I would like to keep it stock if possible, I dont want to drop $600+ on a head unit for a 10 year old car. I tried searching.

Hi Darren,
I also have an 03, but I have the Nav. I bought the car last year, and it originally came with the motorola phone in the center console. the phone was gone, but the module the phone plugged into was still there. I went on Craigslist and for about $100 found a bluetooth adaptor that plugs in where the motorola used to be, and then the magic of bluetooth = a connection with my Samsung galaxy. I can use the steering wheel buttons to answer and hang up, plus with the nav screen I can dial numbers, or scroll through the phonebook (from the phone) on the nav screen. Without that screen, I guess you would lose some of that functionality, but it should still work.

That's a Bluetooth v60 Puck, but I'm having a hard time finding one.

There were a few on Ebay a few months ago, but most of the pucks were for the newer versions. I ended up having luck on craigslist. Technically the dealer sells a version, but it is like $400. good luck!

I can find pucks but not for our year.

Hi Darren,

I researched the puck from the dealer a couple of weeks ago. It is no longer available through them.
There are some vendors of the puck on e-bay, might be worth a shot.
I have the AUX port and nav but the link above is for iphone not droid. Even with the nav ,I doubt phone controls will work on the steering wheel, head unit.
Appears to be music only.

All the pucks on ebay are for newer models than my 03 or I would definitely buy one. The device in the link above will work on any bluetooth device but has like two features special to the iphone.

I just found this on ebay, I have a galaxy note and will probably stay with samsung, does anybody know if this will work with my phone or car? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-MERCEDES-BENZ-V60-BLUETOOTH-CRADLE-REPLACER-/390576329406?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5af029d2be

I guess I just got lucky with one on craigslist... I looked for about 3 weeks and then one came up locally. I would recommend looking at CL in the major California cities and I would imagine it will be just a few weeks. I think I paid $125 since there is less of a demand for the older ones (even though they dont come up as often. Good luck!

Hi Darren,

I have seen that V-60 cradle eliminator before and it will Bluetooth to the car if the interface cable end is compatible. The cradle cable uses a RJ-45 Ethernet connection.

The other issue is your cell phone compatibility. I use Verizon LG 4G and it has compatibility with Mercedes CAN protocol to some point. to get more familiar with the car check any post by skylaw in the telematics forum, he has our cars down pat.

Cheers, Gator

I emailed the seller, he said thats not the what i need, I need the actual puck. I'm impatient, I ended up buying that satchi thing, or whatever it's called. I'll keep my eye out for a v60 puck.

Hey Darren,
How did the sacchi device work out?
We all like something new that works with our cars, I was working on the cradle system as well and ran out of resources. My cradle, phone was missing as well.
Keep us posted,

Gator

It works really well actually, I'm very satisfied. I haven't had any static, even once. The bluetooth and microphone work really well also. I haven't bothered to set up any of the voice command stuff so I can't comment on that. I'm very happy with my purchase so far.

I have my cradle and v60 phone, I just wanted bluetooth connectivity.

There might not be an aux port for non nav systems, I recently read a post about a gent who converted the cassette inputs to RCA/mini audio inputs. It required some electronics skills and disassembly of the head unit. This was a 99/2000 model possibly.

I have been working on mine as well. I put 1 factory amp back as a preamp. and bi-amp each door. My 2002 wires were hanging cut loose from the main harness when I bought the car. Starting to get decent sound. I installed a crossover with adjustable gain.
Almost replaced the nav head but I would like to keep the rest of the electronics working for now.

Cheers, Gator
