07 CLK63 AMG Cab to 12 E550 Cab w/Sport (AMG) appearance pkg

Hello All,

I'm thinking about making the change.

The obvious minuses would be the loss of the AMG engine, body/styling, braking, and handling (and general AMG prestige). Aside from being a newer car, some of the pluses would be that a fully loaded E would be more technologically advanced (including more fuel efficient).

Any comments, feedback or advice from those who have done or considered doing similar would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

kc2ntlh

You already have the CLS for AMG cravings.

...and the larger back seat for the adults. They seem to be very nice cars, my neighbor down the street just got into one.

Would you trade in the 63 Cab or sell it privately? I'm having a hard time finding a good 55 or 63 Cab around here in New England. Where are you located if I can ask?

If you want another opinion: it seems like a strange move to me. You already have a full sized sedan. You then want to trade a smaller and much better handling, braking, and more powerful car for a full size sedan which you already have. I think the E550 is a fantastic car even in w211 form (I realize you are looking at the w212).

You have two 63's, do you really care about economy? I can't say it has ever been a concern for me. Anyway just another opinion, feel free to ignore it.

kc2ntlh,

Where are you located? How many miles do you have on the CLK63? Is the vehicle pristine and absolutely unmodified?

Back to the subject I say go for it buddy!
As long as you still have an AMG in the driveway you'll be alright.
But what about the 13 E Cab? Don't you want the facelift??

I believe the 12 and 13 E Cabs are the same. I don't care for the facelift on the 14 E Cab. Thanks for the comments.

Apologies i misread. It still stands thought. Most things are better with the car you already own.
