New Car
Hi everyone,
New to the forum, Just bought a 2005 CLK55 sight unseen from Texas, Car is being delivered to New York this week. Mars red 61000 miles clean car fax.. Very excited. Thought it would be a great weekend car and for days i have to travel longer distances for work.. Hate my wrangler on the highway.. Anything i should be looking out for.. Plan on going through the car with my mechanic the same day.

Thanks everyone.. I've actually never seen one in red.. Any idea how many they made in that color? I think I bought it within a few hours of it being posted

The Cosworth 123 was a charm in its day. I happen to know where one is sitting collecting dust.
Your drive to work will be spirited now and fun, fun, fun Congrats

Nice choice on the version with the quad tips.
Look for leaks. Those cars eat up (...or sometimes leak) oil. I don't quite get it. But it does. I'm sure many here go through it. My bro puts in a quart of oil around every 1k miles (it's in excellent mechanical condition too). My buddy with an '04 adds oil every 800 miles or so.

$ dependent decision
Michelins, Pirelli or DWS will probably set you back double those Sumitomo.
I just put some Nexxen AS1 on another car and while I wouldn't put them on mine
they cost $450 mounted & balanced tpms rebuilt ($32 rape) with road hazard warranty.
So far I am truly impressed with the change on a front wheel driver.

I know they are expensive but I was thinking a set of continentals.. Strictly summer tires the car won't be used in the winter.. I'm a big fan of German tires..

saw a green one once
While shopping for mine and I should have paid up for it. Heavily optioned I am guessing it was special order back in the day.
If you are a Conti fan (as am i with DWS) and you are only going summer I think the DW would be an outstanding choice.

Thanks.. The Conti DW are leading the list right now.. Car comes Saturday.. Can't wait to drive it.. I've driven a 208 convertible 55 a couple of times.. Curious to see the the 209 coupe compares

Why no love for the Bridgestones? I seem to be the only one running them and they are the closest thing to the MPSS but they cost less.

Just bought this on eBay. Fits very snug, won't blow off and is rain and dust proof.

Got the car almost completely flawless.. Needs new front rotors in the not to distant future.. But the suspension, and interior 9 out of 10.. No fault codes not a single door ding.. Engine runs like a top couldn't be more happy

cool check for valve cover gasket leaks in the engine, pretty common on these engines...looks amazing! more pictures!!! also, front rotors are really expensive

For front rotors, consider RacingBrake two-piece rotors: less expensive than OEM and much longer lasting. I have them on the front and rear and really love them. A great upgrade to the CLK55.
