Question regarding pricing on my 2002 CLK55
I'm currently selling my car on this forum, craigslist, and autotrader. I've posed it for about $9,500. In sum, the car has 77K miles and is very, very clean.
I feel like I'm giving it away but I've had very few reasonable offers. What gives? Any opinions on what this car is worth?

Thanks.

Thanks, that's the conclusion I've reached. Most people looking at this car want the MBZ name. Whether its a 320, 430, or even 55 seems to be of little consequence.

I think this car holds a bargaining price @ 10k period.
The W208 has become a classic and an AMG should merit the price. There are similar CLK 430 likely selling for the same price.
The W208 might be aging 98-02 it will not be superseded in terms of fun and reliability. It is truly a Benchmark car for Mercedes and AMG.

I think you should keep it. The newbies just want the logo and do not realizer the pedigree of how great this car is.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
One issue that hurts resale is they don't look much different to a regular CLK, and stock they're very quiet. Plus they don't appeal to younger buyers like a used M3 does. And they're only auto so that limits their appeal as an occasional track day car.
Mind you, look at the value of a Porsche Boxster, you can hardly give them away. Those owners must be struggling with that. Porsche 928s used to be hard to sell too but they're on the way up, slowly. The CLK55 might well go the same way as the better 928s

Unfortunately I think most informed MB buyers want new cars. There will always be a market for used ones but i don't see the prices going crazy like BMW Porsche. Look at the 190e 16v vs the e30 m3's. They are both great cars, fun to drive and the same vintage but a good 16v is 6-10 k and an m3 is 10-25k. On the plus side we can score awesome cars on the cheap.
Well I’ll if I had seen a car like this a couple months ago, I would have bought it. I just bought an 02 56k miles for 10k. I love the car! I think these cars are beautiful machines and priced as cheap tricks. I’m curious to know what you sold your car for.
