does the radio antenna also operate centrol locking
RF part of Key uses antenna and amplifier to work.
Common failure mode is losing radio reception when RF part of key fob stops.
Search and you shall find answers.
Sometimes amp loses connection to glass, sometimes fuse blows.

You could power up a Nav head on a workbench and still bluetooth chuck berry. These systems are totally independent.
The FOB is only for determining the next available immobilizer enable. Yhe batteries in the FOB are for Central Locking System only. Infra red in the Ignition FOB hole determines immobilizer enable to start.
All correction queries welcome but might get beyond the scope of the OP question which seems meaningless to me.
The Antenna operates off a relay when the radio is powered on if this makes ant sense.
Hit me hard folks, Gator

W209 uses ant amp for RF part of key. Simple, easily confirmed fact.

A radio will work without an amp and most of its NAV data comes over the D2B Most Bus.
None of it has ever tied into central locking system or Antenna control. NAV uses Fiber independent of Fob Enable. The only close possibility is a panic button hit.
Likely only operates security siren unless one subscribes to Benz Apps.
The latest radios mabye 2012 and up require owner ID for activation.
You are on track but W209 DVD systems are not that elaborate.
Folks, I am open to abuse give it up.

I wouldn't care but you have given the OP wrong and worthless advice.
There is a thing called "google"
Into it type "W209 antenna radio key" and prepare for true enlightenment.
It takes a real man (or woman) to say "Whoops, I was wrong"
Time to take the test.
If Google is acting up, here is one of the results, leads right back to this board.

Not sure why the W208/W209 was clumped into the same forum but it is apparent there are hidden discrepancies.
Preparing to eat my hat, ketchup please?
