Carlsson RS, Kleemann, or AMG suspension

That’s the better suspension? My car’s primary role is to and from work. I do have a very nice back country road I drive occasionally so handling is important. I enjoy driving the road and want to make the most of the fun. I currently have the Kleemann speed sensitive dampers and springs on my 01 CLK55. I think I’ll be trading in to a 04 model soon so I’m really asking about the w209. I was thinking the Carlsson RS as it is so adjustable, however I’m not to sure about coilovers. I also thought about just adding the RENNTech sway bars to the AMG suspension. What’s the better route?

Coilovers - i think most people just set the coilovers once, and leave it. since if you do not do it yourself, it will cost from 80-150 dollars to pay a professional to adjust it everytime... I do not think the loss in ride quality will suffer to much...it did not for myself

also, you will have to drive more carefully

Swaybars - If you look at my sig, I have brabus front and rear sway bars...let me give you a word of advice... when you ask for the swaybars, ask them if they are for the CLK55 specifically, because when I order C32 swaybars from brabus, they gave me W203 swaybars. AMG cars have bigger bolts or something so the swaybar had 2 be driller to make it fit the bigger bolt (drilling which I had to pay for.... ). Also my swaybars make squeaking noises..and is also hitting my rear quarter panel and making knicking noises occasionally
- The C32 and CLK55 have the same suspension, so I jsut thought I'd share.

Before you change your suspension consider the inconvenience that you might experience should something go wrong...

If I could go back, I would NOT have changed my suspension to H&R coilovers and brabus swaybars... I would have simply gotten lowering springs from renntech...

However, I DID noticea big handling difference from the coilovers, but I did NOT notice a significant difference with swaybars...

just leave it stock...spend the money on speakers or something...

Well..
I thought about it for a while(about 2 months). After doing a lot of researches in many forums, where I met people who changed their sus to Carlsson RS, I decided to change my sus to see how it can improve handling. Essentially, Carlsson RS is very similar to Bilstein PSS9 coilover system. People say Bilstein's ride is a little bit rougher than Carlsson's. Harris, who experienced both systems, can tell you about the products.
I just purchased the PSS9 from a tuner in Germany and i can't wait until I get it on my car. It will take about three days to get to my place. I will tell you about the product (just my pure impression and feeling about the products). Even though I am no prefessional driver nor MB specialists, I think I can give you some info about what was improved with the kit.

best regards,
Jae.

Did you keep you stock pieces so you can return it to original specs?

I absolutely love it.

I got mine installed today. And the improvement in handling is sensational!!!
I set it to 9 all around and the ride quality is same as stock but yet you will definitely notice.. nonono not notice, but experience difference in handling. I am a happy man.~~

If you think the PSS-9's are the same feeling as stock on setting "9" than the PSS9-'s must be significantly softer than the Carlsson RS's

It's not exactly the same after driving my car for a while, I feel like the car is much harder than the stock. But it's worth if one considers that the performance is priority.
