Good choice for brake pads? 2005 clk55

My front rotors are worn down and I am thinking of replacing them with the Brembo part that is similar to the original rotor. I’m assuming that’s a good choice but as far as pads what should I shoot for?

Like to have as close to original stopping power but if there’s an option that throws off less brake dust that’s great too. Appreciate any comments or reviews on what your experience has been.

I personally like "EBC" Red or Yellow pads, using them with many MB models,,

they are really great stopping perform, with NO soft pedal, and less dust compared to OEM's..

If you will not keep the car, you can put regular 1-piece Rotors from "C32/C55",,

they are much cheaper..

Hmmm. I didn’t know that. What is the disadvantage of doing that? Would this one work?

Sure, it will works fine,

As you know;

2-piece rotors have better advantages, over 1-piece,
such as:-

"Less weight/better heat dissipation of aluminum hat acting as a heat sink/transfer heat from hub and wheel bearings/more age",,

as long as you will not keep the car, better to go with 1-piece Rotors..

If someone were keeping the car but only drove it on the weekends with some spirited driving but no track use are the one piece rotors OK?

I have put Akebono ceramics on my 2002 CLK55 and 2006 E55. I love them.

Unfortunately;

"Akebono" doesn't have pads for "CLK55/SLK55" Front 6-pot pads,,

they only have for Rears..!!

Both are great,

A) "Red stuff", is ceramic components/very low dust/around (25%) better stopping brake.

B) "Yellow stuff", is Track racing/heavy brake/minimum Rotor damage due to perfect mixture copper & carbon.

* i tried both, with fantastic results..
