Looking forward to good times with this car. It is an '02 with the Espresso Designo option: Mocha Black paint, Light Brown Nappa leather, and Natural Maple Wood trim.

Saw the pics of your car and simply awsome! Switched to the darkside eh? Anyways congrats again! See my post on your other forum.
Thanks for the welcome.

This CLK55 has 2 of the 3 available options: Designo is one and the other is the K2a integrated CD changer / voice recognition Timeport phone. Did not get COMAND. Have used COMAND many times and never cared for it.
Here are some pics of the new car, too: http://www.bmwm5.com/vbulletin/showt...threadid=17444
Mods would be basic for now: exhaust and K&N air filters. Do you know which company(ies) makes loud high-quality exhaust? I know of many of the major companies out there (Brabus, Lorinser, Remus, etc.), but am not familiar with their specific products. Don't want straight pipes but do want a mean sound from idle to redline.
Thanks,

JamE55,
Any HP gains/quotes with these systems?? ( I guess Ben will chime in shortly....
)
If you install a Kleemann kompressor on a AMG 55 engine the stock hp CLK55 342 / E55 349 the hp will be about 550hp! So it's about a 200hp gain!

Anyways as for the exhaust not really sure. I know Mach430 used to have RBTech and i've heard it before and sounded very deep and throaty. Awsome sound. Hp gains not really sure but he should be able to tell you.
I am going to order an Eiseman exhaust pretty soon. After doing a fair amount of research I find that it is louder, attractive, and reasonably priced. I also plan to lower the car with new springs and put on 19 inch wheels with wider tread.
I have a bit of a car fetish myself.

Congratulations on your purchase. I too have just picked up a clk55 (about a month ago). It is black over charcoal and light gray two- tone interior.

For mods, I mean you just got the car, personally I wouldn't put anything on the car the first few months, till you get the hang of your car, then when you know how your car handles/feels and you start getting used to the 349hp, then start doing stuff to it. For now I would just enjoy 349hp.

349 bhp? Have been with much faster cars as daily drivers. Can't wait for the SL55 engine to make its way into the CLK. That CLK will be a brute.

Perfect example was me switching to the CLK 430 from a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Driving a Jeep, you are a bit hesitant to give more gas into a turn. But the more you drive it the more confident you become with it and know what it can and can't do. Not that I'm saying I drive recklessly, but you get the idea.

Congrats! I love my CLK55..Though maybe not quite as much as Karl. Enjoy the beast!!
The CLK55 AMG is the best car built since the invention of the wheel and the historic date of January 1886, when the first patent was issued to Karl Benz for successfully harnessing the power of a lightweight internal combustion engine to a vehicle that would travel on land.
I just wish that the MB techs would wash their hands.
MB will be installing a new light grey roof/head liner and a second new sunshade, because the sunshade was sliding while accelerating and decelerating.
The MB mechanic that replaced the sunshade thought that grease marks on the roof/headliner would be as much appreciated as the Daimler signature on the windshield... After the MB tech replaced the loose sunshade, I thought that a chimney cleaner invaded my prized possesion via the sun roof...
Next week Wednesday will be the day that the replacements will be done. I hope and pray that the electrics/electronics won't suffer collateral damage during this procedure.
I wish Karl Benz would be there to supervise.
