I'm using Mobil 1 synthetic thats suppose to last over 10K miles and you want me to change it every month? Who's the one being retarded now? Be happy I'm changing it every 4-5K miles.
Damn.

Besides...I don't think my noisy lifters are due to the oil. They were noisy the day before and the day after the oil was changed.

Whats the color of the oil? You should change it once a yr regardless of mileage.

stiggs, its the charcoal filter trust me, that ticking noise I had it ( its like a ticking noise and more obvious when you are idle) The dealership guy brought out the mechanic and he lifted up the hood did somthing and told me to litsen and the ticking noise went. Apparently its becasue the charcoal filter needs to be changed, no rush for that he just said it can be changed the next time.

Hope that helps

3000 mile oil change with synthetic is over kill. You shouldnt go over 5k for a change. Because your car uses at least 8.5qrts. My c36 uses 7.9qts and after 4k miles the oil is not dirty.

Hmmmmmmmmm

OK, so far I have two other options if the Techron fails:

- Purge Valve

- Charcoal filter

I'm basically just gonna go down the list until it's fixed.

Thanks for the help guys.
