For all the CLK63 Black Series owners out there.....do you have a squeak in the dash when you hit a bump?

I wish I could pinpoint where it is...its that sound you cannot tell where it is coming from

That's really annoying, those drive me crazy!!! Good luck pinpointing it. I'd say live with it for 1000 miles when the car is scheduled for its first inspection and let the dealership fix it.

Sounds like you bought a 2003 CLK55. Not only do I have an annoying squeak coming from the rear door panel but also get a squeak from the front dash when I go over bumps (i.e. speed bumps) very slowly. Almost sounds like the dash is moving and plastic is rubbing on plastic. Again...I just live with it.

Have you noticed the huge bar in the trunk, almost the diameter of a roll bar?

I believe that is a type of chassis tie down. If I remember from Drag Racing days, it help makes the chassis stronger and eliminates some twist or flex of the chassis which help keeps the car better planted on the track. I'm enclosing a pic of the Ford GT I had and you can see all the chassis tie downs or torsion bars on her. Magwheel

Its called a strut brace and is mounted to the shock towers to increase rigidity and reduce body roll.
