Talking Waxy On..... Waxy Off.....!

One 'funny' or 'not so funny' story on the CLK BS depending on your sense of humor. Last Tuesday my GF and I were coming home from our Pilates exercise class and I decided to stop at one of those 'laser' spray car washes to get the surface dirt and dust off the car.

I like going to this particular one which has a special cycle that distributes wax in 4 or 5 colors and makes you feel like your on LSD! Anyhow, while in that cycle, the wax bladder or tank failed and dumps a 'sh_tload' of colored liquid wax all over the BS! It almost makes me think it might be Timothy Leary's car from the 60s! Great..... just great!!!

Next I begin going through the drying cycle and all it does is start to harden the wax! So I hurriedly skip that cycle and try to pull the car out of the wash bay but I can't see crap because the wax is all over the windshield..... I can barely see where the hell I'm going!

I somehow make it out and go over to the self spray area of the car wash and spend 4-5 dollars in quarters trying to get ALL the wax off the car before it hardens and I wind up with the first CLK63AMG BS Christmas candle in the World!

Finally..... after 10-15 minutes of spraying my brains out, all the wax is gone..... at least I'm hoping so! What a fiasco! I had two major concerns. One was that wax build-up was so thick all over the car, that I may not have been able to get it off with the hand held sprayer and secondly, that the wax might have clogged the air intake around the cowl area! Luckily, I haven't detected any hint of either!

Just thought you guys would get a kick out of this 'waxy' story at the Car Wash! Mags

I'll have your car professionally detailed - with Qtips, if you let me borrow the BS for the AMG Track Days in Louisiana at the end of the month.

I sold the SLR and the Carrera GT and bought the 07 F430 Coupe and Spider and the 599. I'm driving them a ton more than I did the other cars. Go figure! Noooo.... I don't track any of my cars. I'm afraid I'd get carried away and I'm not that young anymore! Mags

Too old to even wash your own car, gotta use a machine LOL... Now that is funny. At least with no back seats you have space for your rocker. Yup, you just had to start with me again over stuff you know nothing about. Since your following me around digging up out dated posts and posting random crap, I'll return the favor. You are the one who gives enthusiests a bad name.

Posted by Magwheel and the reason for my replies. He just keeps instigating for no reason.
Clk&Slk, Yeah..... I've had run ins with him before and really enjoy calling him out and agitating the hell out of him! He's as phony as a $3 bill!!! He's one of those scum-bags (like clay jr?) or whatever his name was who claims to own everything.

Just check these links and you'll see what I mean. https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread...ht=most-wanted and https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread...=207713&page=2 (bottom of this link). I've got him freaking out again!!! Ha... ha... ha! Magwheel

So magwheel, what is it that you don't understand and makes you think I'm phony. I'm not parading around saying I have 10 cars or whatever your count is now days. I had a C55 & Cayenne. Sold it for a Cayenne CTT and it spent it's first week in the shop with over 4 issues and 3 recall items. I decided to trade for a Gallardo instead of shooting for the lemon law. At one point I had a deposit on a CLK black as I love the car, but kept getting the run around on delivery time and color options. I simply moved on. So what is your fuss really about?? Do you really want to start another post war with me?? I have all the time in the World to play with you and make you look like an ***! :

Hey Magwheel....why would you take such a nice car through an automated car wash...touchless or not. They are crap. I never use those things and I only have a lowly CLK55. Sure you think its quick and easy......just to get the surface dirt off, but its not worth it.

Hi Stiggs, Well to be honest, I just don't like self washing cars anymore. I guess I'm getting a litlle lazy! I wouldn't take any of the 'speciality' cars through a strip sponge or 'touchless' car wash. I do take the SL550, the S550, the CLK BS and the Toyotas through them. They are especially valuable for the FJ and Tundra in Winter time to get salt off the vehicles after the many Winter snow storms we have here in Ohio! Have you heard anything big time negative about the 'touchless' car wash systems?

I washed the GT3RS by hand Saturday because some kid from one of our local communities that I talk to on another car web forum wanted to come over with his girlfriend and see the cars.

Do you ever use 'Quick Detailers' of any brand? I like using them and they seem to do an excellent job of cleaning (light dust) and shining! How about California Dusters? Do you like them? Mags

Don't use California Dusters! They make swirl marks.

Haven't tried any of those. I just wash by hand. I used to go to the touchless car wash when I had my W208 CLK430 but I would get wheel rash from rubbing up against those metal pipes they use to line the way out of the wash area.
