New they are a $138k MSRP...Ive seen them go as low as $124k sale price, but the MF and residuals are not good on any '08 model at this time. You are better off paying cash or financing at this point.

I would second that. Buy or finance. The leases are insane right now.

How bad can a lease be come on. I was given 3700 a month 36 months thats freaking retarded. It felt like they just threw numbers at me. It totals up to the price of the car in 36 months.

Thanks for info guy. I will see what I can do. If i can get it around 2000 to 2300 for 24 months would be awesome with min drive off.

I'll see maybe get 1 that is a demo or some sort.

Aug 20th is the latest?

Would that suggest that trade in today would be mid 80's?

No it should be close to the 91K if that is what they are going for at the Auction. Not all cars go by the book, some do better and others the book is way off. Auction prices should be around book value.

So a dealer will take the car to auction and settle for no profit? Or a minimum profit like $500 to $1k?

Sure, if he has the equivalent of three or four cars that he can move relatively quickly tied up in that one car, he's much better off wholesaling the CLK63 BS unit, and buying a few C-Class cars (for example).

Don't forget, unlike most of the people here, the dealers don't love any of these cars. They are just a means of making money. Turnover of inventory is the key to success and keeping the lights on at the dealership.

If a unit doesn't sell within the allotted time frame, move it out and floor something that the customer wants.

$3700 for a 3 year lease sounds wrong, but it isn't far off a 3 year loan for purchase (total payments =$133,000). That would equal a $120,000 purchase price at 7%. Was the residual zero? If not, what was it?
Did you try the "Do I have stupid written on my forehead" line?

I have a feeling that this was Beverly Hills Mercedes quoting you the ASTRONOMICAL price. They are known to try and pull stuff like this. They dont even have any BS in their inventory. They would have to call around and find you one, which would explain the Stupid Price Quote. You might as well just finance one. It will cost you less is the long run. These cars new can be had between 119k to 122k, but youhave to find outside your current marketplace. I would also strongly suggest that you dont buy a DEMO, regardless of inexpensive and attractive the deal might be. Good luck. I am curious to know who your salesman was at beverly Hills merecedes. I bought mine new from Oakland and I paid 118k. I also Live in your neighborhood.

Actually it was keyes european, wasnt beverly hills benz.

I know the guys at beverly hills benz I know everyone there I dont buy cars from there I used to. My cousin usually get his cars from rick chan.

I told keyes to F off anyways they are crazy I find 1 eventually.

Ok another retarded thing that happen was this. A friend of mine has an s600 he doesnt want it anymore. His friend want it but he can only lease it. So he went to keyes told keyes to buy it back from him for 120k and re lease it to his friend.

This was the deal keyes gave him.

Keyes would pay him 110k re lease it to his friend for 2500 a month for 39 mths with 5000 drive off.

That again is stupid. LOL

Sounds to me you need to stay away from Keyes. Go get a BS elsewhere buy or finance it. Leases are not the best route to go especially now. As someone mentioned earlier, dealers do not love cars. A car on the lot is equivalent to getting branded with a hot poker to a dealer.

Go to someone that wants to sell a car. I mean really sell it.

That car has been on ebay for 3 weeks or so, they were slowly decreasing the price until it sold.

Exactly my point, they keep decreasing, they really want to sell a car. The OP want a better price, just an example of it is better out there.

Someone is trying to hose you, unless you are talking about the NEW SL Black Series. That is a terrible figure for a CLK, do the math yourself. $3700 x 36 months = $133,200. Even if you were to pay MSRP for the car, $138,000 + sales tax (approx 7%) you come up with a grand total of $147,660. Even if we calcualte a terrible residual valve of 40% you are still overpaying for the car by over $20,000 by my calculations

In reality you should be able to pick up a new CLK Black Series in the ball park of $115,000-$120,000 plus taxes, at $3700 a month you should able able to buy the car outright in 36 months rather than lease it.
