my new black series
2008 Black Series, it had been sitting in the showroom for almost a year. The deal I got on this car was insane!
It's about time for another drive. I freaking love this car!

Thanks! Yes it does have TPMS, and it was complaining the entire way home. I thought the tires looked a little low however from what it says under the gas cap they were overinflated quite a bit. The sticker says 38 front/33 rear and mine were 40 all around.

Congrats, I'm sure you already know you made a great decision, and the fact that you said you got a great deals probably magnifies your joy. You should really consider driving up to MIR on Nov. 15 th for the M-B AMG meet and drags, it can't be more than a couple hour drive for you. There is a thread dedicated to the event over in the W211 AMG E section of this forum, or you can send a private message to BLACKBENZZ for more details, he is one of the organizers of the event. There will be a wide variety of AMG and M-B's at this event in various states of tune from stock to extreme. Guys are traveling from all over the country to attend, even a couple guys from California. It's also a great way to see what your car can do in a safe controlled enviroment. There are going to be at least 2 CLK Black Series (both very heavily modded)at the event, JT55 (John) and myself. I am trying to talk another local guy from my area to bring his out as well.
Enjoy your new toy!

Thanks, I'm loving the car so far. I have been following the progress on your black well before I bought mine. I'd love to make similar mods some day but for the time being its going to stay stock. Vizionclk430 posted the link earlier to the MIR thread; I'm considering going however I seriously doubt that I'd trust myself with the car just yet. It's still way too much car for my ability.
If you decide to go hit me up and I'll meet you on that side of the water and we could roll together. I will be looking at your tail lights the whole way but it will be a nice sight. Just let me know

Congrats on the purchase; I'm hoping to obtain one at a nice price that has been sitting for a while as well...a long shot I know.

Given the incentives, that car should be had for around $120k at this point....nice pickup, sometimes it helps to wait til the end of the model year to get the heaviest discounts.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupé
I like to think that I have a good relationship with this dealer and would hate to put out any information that might depreciate other AMG cars they have on the lot or on order. I realize that I have every right to make that information public however I think I owe them at least that.
With that being said I will say that it was under 100k.

Damn, these cars are making CL 65s look like good investments.

Mine say 49/45 as well but I very seldom listen to manufacturer recomended pressure, I base my tire air pressure on feel and performance. I run my Black Series on the street at 45f/42r. Pirelli did put out a revision that recomended 39 all the way around, but that bulletin was for track/performance use. Maybe newer cars got a different door jam sticker (doubtful). Anyone running much lower than 42 on the roads is crazy. I was going to respond to the other poster that made the smart a$$ comment but I felt it better that he learn his lesson the hard way. If he chooses to run 33/38 on the street so be it, wait until he goes to buy a set of replacment rubber and they tell him his wheels are all out of round Bottom line is you can't run 33psi on a 35 or 40 profile tire on most public roads for fear of wheel damage.

The door jamb says 48F 44R and refers you to the manual for more info. The fuel door and manual both say that 38F 33R is the recommended pressure for speeds up to 155 mph, offering the best grip and comfort level (see pages 226-227 of the owner's manual). 48F 44R is only recommended for speeds above 155mph. I have 10k miles of fairly aggressive street driving on Northeast roads (no burnouts however) on my original tires and wheels using 39F 35R with no issues whatsoever . I am happy to pose the question on the next AMG private lounge chat session to see if they say anything different, but I will continue to follow the manufacturer's recommendation until I hear otherwise.
