2008 MB CLK Black Series
Anyone running higher octane gas w/CLK BS?
General question. I have a completely stock set up, will 100 Octane harm the engine or confuse the ECU or does the ECU compensate for the higher octane?

The ECU theoreticlly will allow more advance and therefor more power. This has been debated adnauseam. NA don't seem to benefit as much as forced induction cars where heat is a bigger factor.
I run it on track days, and seat of the pants tells me its a little crisper.

without running software that is designed to specifically take advantage of the increase in octane the car will not substantially gain much. your wallet however will take a hit.

you guys are nuts, i love it. a buddy of mine had a pretty bad a$$ Audi S4 2.7L twin turbo and when he ran race gas in it at the strip it would shoot a flame out the exhaust. it looked pretty awesome at night.
