Great cars! Welcome and good luck on your search. I'm sure you've looked on the usual sites? I've lived with one now for two years and it still puts a smile on my face everytime I fire it up!!!! Keep us posted.

Great choice! It's a much nicer sports car than anything BMW has to offer at the moment.

Hello, I have a white BS that I just put up for sale. 8.7K miles, clear bra from day one, all stock except wheels painted black, never on a track, added bonus- brand new tires, had a nail in one so I bought a whole new set! I,m fanatical about my cars. Like new in every way.

I'm selling to get a SL65BS! 75K firm.

Someone got an amazing deal. You are crazy for selling this car so cheap! This car should sell no problem in the 80's. Silver in the 70's same mileage, yes. White, no way. Must need to move it very fast.

I strongly disagree with silver in the 70"s. These cars are beginning to hold their value in the low to mid 80's regardless of color.

this might be true as well. because of the numbers, silver will be more available and because of supply/demand should bring less.

I must note while white was my first color, silver was a strong second. There is a reason MB built more silver ones than others.

I have been looking for a BS for a while now, I spoke to the seller and I made a deal to buy the car. I was suppose to wire money during the next couple of days. The seller said he was trying to buy a SL BS. When I pushed him for pictures, details and copy of the title, he backed off. Telling me to wait to wire the money snce he didn't want to sell the car unless he bought the other car. I told him I had the cash and was waiting for him to contact me. Yesterday, I received an email telling me that he had received a deposit on his car and was sorry he couldn't sell it to me. Apparently, he felt the price was too low and sold it to someone else for a higher pirce. Although it was his car to sell, what a frustrating experience. We had a deal..... I had the shipper line up and the bank wire ready. I emailed and spoke to the guy several times.I felt he was honest and a person of his word.

Bummer, I am back in the market.

I am telling you guys this because the guy didin't sell it for $75k.

That is a bummer....and if I am not mistaken and you did have a binding contract, you are entitled to part of his profit over and above your agreed upon price of $75k. But, that would of course require some sort of legal action and after it's all said and done, you would probably end up paying an attorney more than you would recoup.
Anyway, too bad some people can't do the right thing....

Id be pissed.....you guys had a deal and if you have any type of written correspondence(email perhaps) saying such, you could get a strongly worded letter from an attorney for very little cost.....you probably already knew that.

There are always 2 sides of a story but based on your post, it really speaks to the sellers character or lack there of and you're probably better off. If he was willing to screw you on the deal he would have screwed you on the something about the car too!

financialman - SHAME on YOU!!!!

Although you're probably right this would end up costing more than he'd recoup. Unfortunately, this has one of those instances where he just moves on and continues his search. Just a good thing he didn't wire any money to this clown.
