Heading to Affalterbach and Hockenheim
Doing the AMG factory tour and then attending the DTM at Hockenheimring in a few weeks. Any suggestions for "must-see" items in and around Stuttgart and Hockenheim? Definitely going to try to do the Porsche factory tour while in Stuttgart/Zuffenhausen.

The Mercedes museum is supposed to be a nice visit in Stuttgart.
Otherwise, even the Germans say: "Things to do when in Stuttgart: drive to Munich"
Edit: check the Oktoberfest calendar! http://www.google.de/images?hl=de&q=Oktoberfest%20babes

After the factory tour at Affalterbach ask for directions to the old sawmill-where it all started - and take a few pics of the old place.

I would like to add to the good suggestions that have been made already.
I found that the Mercedes Classic Center in the Stuttgart area was very interesting to visit. They had various Mercedes including some vintage grand prix cars undergoing complete restorations when I was there.
If you're interested in some non-car destinations, Heidelberg Castle is fairly close to Hockenheim. I would suggest getting a Michelin Green Guide for Germany from a local bookstore. It will contain all sorts of detail about areas of interest for tourists.
Hope you enjoy your prize. The people from AMG definitely know how to treat you royally! I'll be looking forward to hearing your reports of your experiences.

Thanks for all the suggestions and jealousy issues.
sprins, I am pretty sure Octoberfest is over this weekend, it typically runs in mid-Sept thru the first week of October I believe.
DFW, I'd love to hit the Nurburgring, but my time is very limited. I wish I could have planned more time to visit other places in Germany, the N-ring being one of them!
mcw, thanks for the tip on HWA showroom, I will try to go there as well.
JDB, I'd like to see the Classic Center - it's close to the Museum so maybe we'll do that as well. And we had already thought about taking a drive over the Heidelberg Castle.
I also want to partake in significant quantities of German brew.
