Question-New Michelin Pilot Super Sports

I've posted previously on the same subject regarding replacing my OEM Corsa's with PS2's. After talking with Michelin today I'm told the 265 PS2's will be discontinued and replaced with Super Sports on April 1. 285 PS2's will be continued and they will only make Super Sports in 295-30-19's. Because I want a matched set of tires it looks like I'll be forced to buy the older style PS2's or preferably, buy the new Super Sports in 265 and 295. Question, can I put 295's on my BS without using a hub-centric ring?

Actually from what i was told (Michelin customer service) all of the PS2's inventory (or what's left of it) will be phased out in time because of the upcoming Super Sports. From a couple of tests (Road & Track/Motor Trend) the Super Sports results were better than the PS2's.

You may want to wait until April because that's when the majority of the sizes will be announced.

My thoughts exactly. I'm going to wait for the Super Sports in April but I'm also going to start tracking my car in June and want a full set of new rubber before I do. Can I run 295's instead of 285's in the rear? Has anyone tried this combo before and was it successful?

The stock wheel is 9.5". In order to go up to 295's, you'll need a 10.5" wheel.

Why would you not track with the Corsa's? Far better on the track than the PS2's.

My OEM Corsa's still have some life left in them and I'll probably use them for my first track day at VIR in June. But, I'm also looking for a replacement tire that I can use on a daily basis and take to the track as well without the hassle of switching them back and forth. The PS2's or preferably the Super Sports are a good compromise given my inexperienced amateur driving level and requirement to take professional lessons.

Hmm, I had a set of PS3's imported from Europe (sort of, they came OEM on an MB that was shipped over here)... are these the rebradning of PS3's or different, anyone know? The PS3's were great, dunno how they would compare to PS2 as I never had those, but the one thing I didn't like is that they were pretty heavy.

PS3s are a completely different animal. There is no correlation to the PS2 or SuperSports.

Anyone interested in the super sports...

In 285/30/19., could you please call Michellin customer service 866-866-6605 and request for this size to be made. If enough people call, it might tip them to making this tire. Thanks
