So the wheels are used with new tires? IF that is the case then the price is off about $1500.00 to $2000.00. Used, the wheels are worth about 2800.00 to 3000.00. I am pretty sure Toyo R888 are not 2900.00 for a new set.
4000 would be a good deal. Just my opinion.

The wheels are new with new tires, customer sold the vehicle before his track events. Take a look at the wheel's backpad it's perfect.

Curious to know why? Have you had any experience running them? Any charachteristics that make it a bad choice for the black on track or street use? I would be interested in your full feedback.

Thank you,

Eitan

Whilst I haven't (and won't) use them on my BS, I did have them on the track wheels for my '09 GT-R. To try and use them as an everyday tyre is a highly compromised position imho. They would be dangerous in a moderately heavy rain and God help you if there's much standing water on the road. They are noisy at interstate speeds. They 'heat cycled' out very quickly on my GT-R even though there was plenty of tread existing. After that I could get about 2-3 hot laps out of them and then it was like driving a drift car. I did not find them to be that much quicker than the OEM RFT on the GT-R; a set of R6s are so much quicker.
If you want a tyre for aggressive street duties that is relatively safe in the rain and can be used on track; stick with the Pirelli Corsas or get some Michelin MPSCs if the sizes work.

Eitan1:

I'm not trying to change my story here but I've just been forced to buy R888s to use as track tyres; here's why:

I bought a set of OZ Ultraleggera wheels as my track wheels thinking that Hoosier R6s would work on the CLK BS. I was wrong as the front 265/35-19 R6 would be about 1" taller than the rears and would mess with the electronics. There was no corresponding rear R6 that would fit safely on my OZs that would match with the front. I looked at pretty much everything, but the 19" sizes are still rare for our car, or the wheel sizes I have. So I ended up with a 265/30-19 front and 295/30-19 rear set of Toyo R888s, since it was the only tyre made that would work.

I still would never use these tyres as a DD tyre, as my point about standing water; heavy rain, and noise still applies; however I'll let you know how they work as track tyres after next weekend. I'm not sure they'll be much quicker than the Corsas and they will probably heat cycle out quicker, but they are about 2/3rds of the price which is a plus. Hopefully they come up to temp slightly quicker also.

The R888 is a great tire for the money. I can not compare to a Hoosier. Hoosiers are one of the top brands for track applications.

Let us know how you like thse R888's
