CLK63 AMG BS
Nice, great to finally see a CLK BS on his one takes. His assessment is spot on. Transmission is slow but the 3-2 is especially jarring to the chassis. The throttle blip mod takes care of that

I wish he commented a bit more on the handling or compared a bit more to other cars, although he did mention the sharp turn-in and best Merc steering outside of the AMG GT.

Is the owner anyone here on the forums? Would be interested to see why he sold the GT3 for the BS. Probably made a huge profit and used it to invest in a BS and something else ha ha.

Nice review from Matt! Would be interesting for Matt to do another review driving a modified (power/suspension) CLKBS to see his take on the differences with other cars. Although, its still a great complement to the CLKBS to say the steering is 2nd to the AMG GT being the CLKBS is 8 year old "technology". Plus there is a "fix" for the transmission shifting now. ;-)

Still an overall amazing car and driving experience for the current market rate of the CLKBS! ;-)

I agree with their assessment that the car is a bonkers amount of fun for the dollar.

The slow shifting on downshift is my only really complaint on the car too. But from my call to RennTech, it is not a "simple fix". They said the transmission needs removed from the car, and that they then have to send parts to Germany for modification. Something like 5 - 7 days to do, and around $5,000. Are there any other options??

I thought the same! LOL! When they told me the transmission had to come out, I was shocked.

There are other options besides RennTech that are not so bonkers. ;-)

The ECU and valve body must be removed from the Transmission if this upgrade is being performed remotely. If this is being done at a shop, then they simply plugin to the ECU/TCU and re-flash with the Rev Match program.

Hope that helps!

It depends on what they do :
- TCU mod (fast shfting + blip throttle) (soft)
- valve body mod (hard)
- Gearbox rebuilt (Hard)

If all is done for 5K ok but for only the 2 fist step it is outrageous IMHO

Turning radias is silly to even bring up. I've never even noticed it or had an issue.

Also Chris Harris has recently bought a clk63 black series. He's also added the blip mod to his.

love this car!!!

This should say everything about this car, along with Clackson a man that can own almost any car and has tested every car. This is his choice
